I understand that an under inflated tire heats up thus increasing the pressure. Does this increasing heat and increasing psi balance itself out? In other-words if I started at 70psi (10psi under the tires recommended of 80psi) then the heat produced increases the pressure and it causes the pressure to come up to 80psi would the tire continue to heat up or would it then operate at the proper temperature and pressure? Maybe I have too much time on my hands...
I run mine at 75psi and carefully check the tread depth and after 7000 miles we have even wear across the tread, tested with my depth gauge. So far the only tire problem I have ever had was when I ran over a truck mud flap and flattened the two drivers side tires. After having these plugged and patched still no problems.
