I am on Florida Power and Light here at the stick house and their local distribution line voltages vary from 750V to 2,400V and as you mentioned the high line for long distance transmission go way up in Voltage.

To answer the ? of how much propane is used. We dry camp quite a bit and can go around 10 days or so (on one tank) with the fridge running 24/7 and using the water heater an hour or so each morning to take showers.

What really eats up the propane is the furnace for heat but we try to avoid dry camping in cold weather without at least 20 amp service.
