Low Water Flow into Toilet

Has anyone experienced low water flowing into the toilet when flushing? We have great water pressure in the kitchen sink, shower, bathroom sink but very little water flowing into the toilet. If we stand there with our foot on the pedal letting water in it eventually fills up but it takes a long time. Any suggestions.

Yes Ive had this as a continuing problem, it appears that I have or had saw dust in the water lines. On the original toilet a small speck lodged in the water valve, which has a very small opening, and completely stopped water flow. The valve is fairly easy to remove and you can see if there is blockage. Of course the toilet has to be removed to get at the valve. I recently replaced the toilet with a new one which has a much larger valve opening however at the rally at Pla-Mor the the pressure started dropping again. I pulled the toilet out and found a handful of what appeared to be hardened saw dust blocking the water line going into the bowl itself. I also found a handful in the lowpoint in line going to the toilet in the storage area, I removed the line and cleared it. There was a service rep from Montana at the rally to which I showed the material I removed and he stated he thought it was saw dust also. He just shrugged his shoulders and said it probably got in the line during construction. I hope this helps, I would check the valve as this is likely your problem.

We are taking ours into a dealer next month....same problem. There is a 3 yr warranty from Thetford on all that stuff. The water valve is the primary culprit in most of these problems, and is easily replaced (easy for them).

Suggest you call Thetford (800-521-3032) and talk with them. Get a commitment for warranty service and take it to an authorized service location for the work. Lots of them around, and the Thetford folks can tell you where.

Don't think thats a thetford problem.They don't put saw dust in the unit..Sloppy workmanship at Montana might be a possibility???

How old and how often used is the rig? I can't imagine having the problem with "old sawdust" crop up after several months of routine use. Took 2 years of full timing before ours became "slow", and a new valve did the trick (for a while)

If you go tho your dealer and the rig is still under warranty, should be fixed, either way at no cost to you.

Lots of good ideas and one of them is probably the culprit. On a long shot in case none of those help, in the basement on our model the line makes a 90-degree turn to go up to the toilet. There's a black brace on that turn to keep it from kinking. If that brace is missing could there be a kink at that location?

That said, when we installed the riser on ours, and later a taller toilet, I had to remove that brace to get the line to reach the connection on the toilet. I could not get the brace back on and we've never had a constriction there. Still, it might be possible.

If you call Thetford and they think it's the water valve they will send you a new one. We had a different problem (noisy valve) and they sent me one based on our phone conversation.

I, too, recently experienced this problem w/low flow on our '05 Montana. Talked w/Thetford and local dealer in WI who said probably construction sawdust in the water valve?! Will have my dealer deal w/it this fall.

Thanks for the input. We called Thedford and they suspected the water valve. It's still working but slowly. Guess we'll have to bite the bullet and have it replaced.
