Cleaning Bugs Off
I was at an auto show Back to the 50s in St. Paul MN this weekend an met Barry Meguiar of Meguirs wax and polish.Asked about cleaning the bugs of the front of my 5er. He said they have a new product out it's called Extreme Marine multi surfice cleaner.$16.00 for 1qt. It worked great the easist clean up after an outing yet.Used very little and the came right off. Best part it didn't take the wax off. Not shure where it is available.

Moistened Bounce dryer sheets (or house brand) work very well too. The fabric softener in them dissolves bug guts quickly.

I suspect that Amazon will have this soon. Meguire's is usually my 'go to' finish materials (I met Barry at NSRA York about 3 years ago)
Other folks use Rejex ( http://rejex.com/). Supposedly it lets you rinse the bug goo off easily. After our last encounter in Texas, Alabama and LA two years ago with love bugs, I'll be using some this year before our upcoming lengthy trips

You can also use foam glass cleaner,, spray it on, let it sit a minute or so, and then the bugs come right off, then you can apply a very thin coat of WD40, and the bugs will hit and slide off.

I use a product called Purple Power that I’ve used for 40 years. It’s as good a tire cleaner as I have ever used. I’ve used it on every thing you can imagine and it has never hurt any thing I used it on. I took the bugs off of my new truck and my 2008 truck this weekend. I’ve had the front of my camper black with bugs. I mix it about 30% or if I’m feeling lazy 50% spray it on lightly brush it rinse it off repeat if necessary. Done. If you like scrubbing your camper for hours get something else. If you are really lazy and don’t like scrubbing your camper try it. It’s only about $10 a gallon so you can’t loose much. Advanced Auto should have it.

No, you need to spend $16 to get the bugs off, or so the experts who sell these producst say....I prefer the bounce sheets too, use the ones already used, and can't imagine the bugs coming off any easier.

I just use simple green at 50/50 ratio, bought an extending handle and brush at a Pilot truck stop and it works phenomenally well at removing bugs and bug guts.

I think the point the OP was making, is that the Meguiar’s product removes the bugs, BUT NOT THE WAX. Every one of the other products will certainly remove the bugs to one degree or another, but also the wax. Waxing these things is a LOT of work; I’ll spend 20 bucks if it will save me re-waxing, or leaving the nose cone un-waxed. I have used Meguiar’s products for decades; it’s the best. Dryer sheets are for dryers.
Just one man’s opinion.

Not sure where you get your information, but the dryer sheets do not take the wax off.

I bought a steel paint pole at local hardware store. It extends to 12’ and my scrub brush screws on. It was less than $10. It does good job of getting bugs off

Regular every day bugs - for sure.
Love bugs - barely touch their carcasses even the same day if they splatted on in the morning and baked for a few hours

Most ingredients are proprietary, but they do contain acetone, acetaldehyde and butane. But hey, it's your trailer, use whatever you want, at least it will have a fresh, springtime aroma!

Soaking the front cap with water occasionally while washing other parts of the trailer will soften up those bugs for easier removal. Good quality soap and occasional spritz/wax is about as easy as it gets.

Saw a CO Sherriff's Deputy at a gas station. His Explorer was plastered with love bugs. I thanked for doing his part to help clear the roads free of them.
