what the hell..heater fan running and running

We have just returned from Quartzsite ralley, took a shower and then weird buzzing noise from under shower. Shut off water pump, 110 breakers hot water heater, heater thermostat control--still buzzing.
went out around back and took off heater cover and found fan running and a red led flashing as well as water dripping off the circut board. Pulled 12V heater fuse. It stoped!
Ok nezt find leak from somewhere in or around shower. Second put fuse in and hope for the best?? Thoughts or experience.

Repair the water leak first. Thoroughly dry the heater components paying close attention to the circuit board and connectors. Reinstall fuse and good luck.

Mikey,

check the drain for the shower, ours had a leak there and IIRC there have been several others on the MOC whose have leaked there also. Good luck.

That board should dry out if it didn't short out. Bummer.
After repairing the water leak, fashion some sort of plastic cover for the board, in case this happens again, like a cover, or roof over the board. Good insurance. Oh, I would look for another board to keep on hand, try the Dinosaur brand, they should have yours.
Good luck Mikey.

Had that very same problem. Our water leak was at the check valve behind the cabinet wall in our 06 3400 . The water made its way over to the ckt board. Replaced the check valve, Dried out the board and all was well.

Mikey, It may not be the check valve. In fact if you hadn't use the black tank flush any time around when you had the problem it probably isn't. The drain assembly and piping out of the shower have been known to leak. You could have a loose connection on the water lines feeding the shower. You could have a wall panel leaking where it meets the shower base. Turn the water on in the shower, go underneath and see what you can see. Some people experienced leaks in the base of shower but only when the shower was occupied. The weight of a person flexing the base or drain caused the leak. Hope this gives you some ideas of what to look at. Let us know what you find. Jim

Good picturs in the reply by OZZ. Now it WILL leak when you flush the black as the check valve is in that line. Tun on the flusher with the boad removed and look up for the leak.

the blackwater flush is a closed system and i didn't use it. Only the shower was used at the time of the problem so i'll take a shower and look for garden tub seams leak and or a leak from the faucet under-neath with hatch off. the tub drain seems watertight and no fittings loose

I would not discount the check valve. Ours ONLY leaked when we flushed the black tank.. The board removes very easy, remove the board and flush the black tank ans check for water therefore eliminating the check valve if it is not the problem..It will not take very long to do...
