HOW many pound of air -do use in your Air Ride Pin box

Since i have no marks or label on my shock; i have to experiment with different
pounds of Air in the Air bag used on Lippert"s Air Ride Pin Box.

Just wondering what pressure others use

Honestly, there is no yellow line on the front of the shock that has an arrow on top of the line? I'd call Lippert direct to get that recommendation - facts count in this case. I never measured jut used the arrow.

Part of the Air Pressure required is dependent on your Pin Weight.
When we had the Lippert Tri-Glide with the Shock and Air Bag, I was running 80 PSI as our pin weight was close to 4K and it provided the best ride and prevented the shock from bottoming out.

There should have been a label with a “Inflate To” line on the shock. Maybe the picture can give an idea where that line should be and put a piece of white duct tape there.

I doubt Trailair can text you what pressure you need. It isn’t important. Each camper will be different depending on the pin weight. There should be a line on the shock. If there isn’t before you hook up put a line on the top of your shock tube. Hook up and let all the air out of the air bag and measure the distance between where that tube is now and pull a line half way between your first line. Then inflate to the line you put on. Be sure your camper in on level flat ground when you inflate the air bag. I’ve had a Trailair pin box almost since they came out. It’s a great pin box.

There is no fill to mark and that is the reason for this discussion.

I have been filling till the hitch (truck part) is level.

Please take a pick from the front. Is there a strip vertical on the shock?

Yes, I understood you have no fill marks. Just suggesting you look at the picture in the link to see the label that SHOULD be there to get an idea where the line should be.

Hers a pic of mine with no wt. mark is only 1/4 inch down. Only time I ever checked the pressure it was 55-60, the only time I've weighed I had 2900 pin.

Hi Bruce. My pin weight is 2740#
My 2011 Mountaineer 326RLT with 30 gals water is at 12,500#, (other holding tanks empty).
2012 Silverado CC Duramax 4x4 6.6’ bed.
My rig rides very close to level with right around 75psi in the bag. TrailAir with TriGlide plate. The pin box has equal travel up and down over bumps, etc. On the shock absorber there is a label “inflate to top of label” which equals about 72-76psi.

YOU SHOULD CALL LIPPERT and have them send you the decal that goes on your shock and the measurements for proper placement. Or at the very least, they can give you some measurements as to where the “fill” line should be. That is a factory QA defect and they may ask you to take it somewhere so they can add that marking. It may also affect your warranty. So I would definitely call them. The arrow and fill line are there so you do not over fill the airbag, based on your pin weight. I have one and is one of the best investments I have made for my TV and 5er.
