Water heater 110vac

We have a 2004 Mountaineer 297RKS. I was trouble shooting our water heater to see why it didn't work on electricity. I found out there is no 110vac to the element. After reading the info provided. The brochure talks about a primary power on/off switch and a secondary switch which is the switch on the water heater. I would like to think that the primary is a breaker. All the breakers seem to be reset and holding in the closed position. I have a pretty decent electrical knowledge having worked on Elevators for 40 years. So now my question the breakers aren't marked, I can start turning them on and off to see what part of the unit is affected or I was wondering if there is a manufacturer standard for the way the breakers are installed and labeled?
Any help would be great. Thank you
Davidm

On later models there is typically an inside switch for the WH on the control panel as well as the switch outside on the WH itself. But earlier models often did not have the inside switch, including my 2007. My circuit breaker panel has a breaker labeled WH. Use your meter to verify you have 120 vac on the load side of all the breakers..

The little black switch on the WH has a history of failing. It could also be a bad thermostat/hi temp cutout. With the switch on and using your meter start at the heating element and work backward toward the switch to see where power ends. If no power to be found, you may have to pull the switch to see if there is power to it

When doing the above, put the meter ground lead on a good neutral, or on frame ground. Reason is that there have been some who had a WH problem and it was found to be the neutral wire connection in the junction box on the WH had a loose connection causing the problem.

You can find a wiring diagram of the WH by googling Suburban RV water heater manual for your WH model.

Ours has the indoor switch. Heater stopped working. Upon investigation found a junction box mounted to the heater with a relay that switches the 110 circuit. It was all burnt up. I got rid of that set up and hard wired a new 110 volt inside switch in the bathroom near the sink.

There is a water heater troubleshooting guide in the files section of the website

https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=17

Also I found an inline fuse on the back of the electric switch on the inside control panel.
