Cable TV

We were having trouble with our Cable TV Picture so We called our Cable company out and they fixed the problem but now The Antenna doesn't pick up any stations when camping. Any suggestions I can try before I call them back out. I am thinking I will get a different guy and all he will say is I have no idea what he did.

Is the booster switch off? Aside from this, I have no ideas?

If your set up is like ours, you need to switch the connection back to the antenna. Ours is located in the cabinet above the TV. I usually forget to switch it back after we have had cable available.

As earlier, check behind the booster to see if the coax is still connected to the booster. Verify the booster is on and verify they did not blow the fuse to the booster, check it for proper battery. In many of our models, the light in the closet is on the same fuse as the booster. Did they change the antenna set up on you TV? The TV may have a search for channels for CATV and a separate search for channels for OFF-AIR channels Good luck

In the cabinet above the TV is the antenna/cable connection. In order to receive cable I need to connect the TV coaxial cable to the cable connection and turn off the antenna booster. When I want to switch back to antenna, I reverse the process.

This switch is a white panel (like a light switch panel). It has a cable input and a green LED light. If the light is on, that means the booster is on for "Air Antenna TV Reception". When using cable you need to push this green LED light to turn off the booster (it works like a push button switch) then cable should work. This is located probably in the closet near the TV in the bedroom.

If this doesn't work, you have other problems. Good Luck

Have a Good Day

grumpys295rkd,
Okay I have to ask....is the TV in "AIR" mode vs. "CABLE"? Did your cable company actually do repairs inside the rig?

r,
Jack

Ok thats the switch I thought you were talking about. Yes it is on and yes I had the TV set to air. I disconnected the cable box and just had the cable from the TV to the wall. still the TV found no channels. So I am waiting for the cable company to come out as I type this. To bad It wont be the same guy as only he knows what he did.

Keep us posted. I am curious to see what they find. Sorry none of our suggestions helped.

After I explained everything to him, first thing he sad was I will take a look at it only because the first guy worked on it and wasn't suppose to. So with that said I had a drawing I showed him that I made when I was looking to see If I could fix it. So I could remember what went where. So he looked at it as I explained everything, and then he started tracing the wireing with a meeter. First thing He found was the Booster was wired wrong. The Antenna was wired to the center post and it should be on the left post looking at it from the Back that is the powered lead. The one the booster button works on. He also changed all the cable ends because he said they were crap, and He said he doesn't know why Mfg's are still using them, Other than they must have gotten a really good price on them. And they must be 20 years old. Once he got everything hooked back up it worked perfect. He even went on the roof and replaced the one going into the antenna. Cost to me......Nothing : )
