Dometic Fridge Light Switch

Our Dometic model # 1062 fridge light has given up (we thought) so we replaced it with a new 10 watt halogen bulb and still no luck. Evidently the switch has given up. Took a look at the switch assembly and assume it just snaps out of position but affraid to try this as it may break the assembly. Anyone have this switch out and is there a process of application to remove it and replace same?? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

When I had problems and trouble shot the switch (it was not the problem). I found the enclosure was held by four "Pin plugs"(my words). These plugs have a hole in the middle and the pin is pushed in to expand the ends to keep the plug in place. The pin plugs are one time use and about $4 to $6 each. I was able to get them at an RV service center.
Hope this helps.

Thanks John, I'll take a look the evening. What started all this was when you opened the fridge door the light would sometimes come on and sometimes not. If you pushed the switch in manually and let it go the light would light until finally after a couple of weeks of this process it was a "no light".

Perhaps a little spray dry silicone in the switch may help. This helped mine when it was doing that....
