GM Brake Controller

Does anyone have the GM integrated brake controller? If so, how does it compare to the Prodigy? If you have it, do you like it?

I had the Prodigy on a Powerstroke 250 and I now have the GM integrated brake controller on a 2500 Duramax. They are both very good controllers.
With the Prodigy I had to set the boost on it as it seemed to forget which level I preferred.
With the GM it's easy hook up the first time and set the setting and I've never had to adjust it again.
If I had it to do over again I would go with the GM intergrated brake controller every time.
I still have the Prodigy with 4 months use just in case.

Thanks Hugh. I currently have the Prodigy in my 2500HD and it has worked great. This summer we will have four years on the truck and Montana and may upgrade both while they still have good value. I always prefer to have good integrated units instead of add on, providing they work properly. I'm anxious to test drive a new 2500HD.

I had the builtin controller on the Ford and felt it the best I've ever used, by far. Prodigy included. I would guess GM's is very similar. They are tied into the truck's computer so can better modulate braking on the trailer to match that of the truck. That's a combination you can't beat. I'd go builtin every time. I just wish Dodge had the builtin. Meanwhile, I'm running a Prodigy P3, which is very good but not as good as the Ford builtin and probably the GM as well.

Steve -

Thanks for the input. I have been very happy with the prodigy, much better than my original Voyager with the TT. But, I've got new Truck fever and later this year I expect to take advantage of the deals GM will be offering to increase sales. Who knows, maybe they will be having some good deals on new Montanas later this year as well.
