Ed & Sue,
One more thing that no one else here has mentioned, be sure to get at least 500 miles of break-in on the new TV before you start to pull your rig. Good Luck & Enjoy!

Bill, I've never had a diesel before. Do you still need that break in period with these newer engines? I will probably, anyway as we are getting our truck now and our 3400RL next spring, but I was just curious.

Thanks Bill,
We did read that in the manual. I just read Chuck and Carol's post about not going over 55 when first towing so I have to go look that up in the manual. We will have the 500 in before we get the hitch installed so we will be okay. The truck dealer is 35 or 40 miles and we will go over there in the morning for the bed liner and we drove home from there and we've done a lot of running around looking at hitches, tool boxes, running boards, etc. So exciting.
Happy trails..............

Parrothead,
I think it is no towing from 0-500 miles and then no towing speeds over 55mph from 500-1000 miles. After that, hammer down and enjoy.

dsprik,
Just what Montana Sky said, per the manual. Not just the engine, but for the whole drive train. When I had new differential gears put in my last truck, they recommended the same thing. I had 2 weekends to get it 500 miles of non-towing driving before we headed out on a long trip.
