No Pressure in the Kitchen
I don't have any water pressure at the kitchen sink. I think I've seen discussion on here before on this subject. Any ideas?

Try the little filter that's in the end of the faucet first. It should unscrew and there is a little screen in there that gets covered with crud.

I thought about that DQDick but the water comes out pretty good when you first turn it on but goes away quickly. Kind of a "starts out slow and tapers off" thing. I'm guessing the first surge is pressure from not being turned on. Thanks for the thought tho.

Is it connected to water source or coming from the tank via the pump??

If it's both the hot and the cold and it's not in other parts of the trailer it has to be in the faucet. If it's not the aerator screen than something must be wrong with the cartridge that controls the mixing of hot and cold. There should be two inlet holes and one outlet hole and it sounds like, if it isn't the screen, you've got calcium build up or a broken O ring in that cartridge set up. I'm not sure if this dual type is called a cartridge or not, but that's what the single ones are called. Anyway I've had to work on them at the store before.

Do you have a pressure reducer on the incoming line?

Where's this cartridge located? Yes I have regulator on the incoming line like I always do.

I can almost guarantee that it is one of the poppits on either end of the hose on the sink. First take the hose off the back of the nozzle and look inside the end of the hose. There is a small plastic restricter/poppit valve inside there, hook it with a pin or needle nose pliers and toss it out. Try the faucet after you reconnect the hose. If it is still giving you problems there is another poppit on the other end of that hose. remove that one and you should have lots of water. And a much heavier flow too...

There is a screen at fresh water connector that can also cause flow problems. Just a washer screen, easy to clean.

The cartridge thing is under the handle. You have to take the handle off and then unscrew the next part you come to and there it is.

Tried the suggestions. No better. In fact sometimes you turn the water on and get nothing. Keep trying and eventially you get a little flow. Losing patience.

This is beginning to sound like a bad check valve on the water heater. They have been known to fail. They are not that hard to replace but having to do it is just a pain. There are several folks that have replaced them, hang lose for a few and maybe one will come along and post, I will go shake a tree or two... I just sent a PM to Oz as I am sure he has done his before. He may be on again tonight or first thing tomorrow...

Thanks Exnavydiver. I hadn't thought of that. Look forward to see if Oz has anything to add.

I would not think the check valve would effect only the kitchen sink. I would shut off the water then open the line under the sink before the faucet. Have someone turn the water on as you observe the line. (I'd use the pump for this as your assistant would be within ear shout.) If you have water flow there the problem is in the faucet. If it is the check valve here is Ozz's post: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...rchTerms=water Good luck and let us know what you find. Jim

jimcol posted my link for the check-valve, but if it is only the kitchen sink, try this:
Get a bucket, turn the water off and take pressure off system, (open tank flush for a second) it's low in the system.
Then unhook the water supply to the faucet, put the supply hose in the small bucket...or trash bag..any container.
Have assistant turn the water for a three-count. If the pressure and volume is correct, you have a clogged faucet, if not, you have ruled out the kitchen faucet. My money would be on the check-valve, but if you have normal flow in the bathroom, it almost has to be the kitchen faucet.
With it uhhooked you could blow compressed air through the spout, turn the faucet to hot and cold to back-flush it.
I am working 7 days a week fixing A/C units, so my brain is a little more fried than usual..

Thanks Ozz. Pressure seems to be normal in the bathroom. I will look at the faucet again when I get a chance. I appreciate it.

We had a low flow situation in the kitchen faucet too. Thought it was a plugged strainer, but it wasn't. After taking it apart, I discovered that when they put it together, the plastic (white) "diffuser" at the nozzle had been put in upside down, partially blocking the flow. Made a big difference. Of course, these faucets are supposed to be "low flow" but not "no flow" units.
