Portable campfire
Just ordered a "Little Red Portable Campfire" from Tweety's. Comes with a cover that makes it easy to store. Hooks up to a standard 5 gallon lp bottle. Figure I can use it on deck at home and events with rv where normal fires are not allowed like football games. Anybody ever tried one of these? I have high hopes for it.

we have the "magic chef" version...works well at football game tailgates, campgrds, etc...does use a lot of propane...about 1 lb per 45 min to an hour...what you miss the most is the real smell of a smoke from the wood fire...etc...

Bought one 4 years ago love it. Surorising how much heat it puts out. Especially under the awning.

We have the "Pit-To-Go" which burns wood. It's nice for a real fire right outside the door if the other pit is to far away.

We got one at "Q" last year. We really like it but be aware that there is a lot of heat that comes off the bottom of the campfire. At best, it will blacken and, maybe, kill the grass under it. At worse, it CAN start a grass fire if used in dry grass. With proper care of use, you will enjoy it for years to come. I don't worry about the amount of propane it uses. I set the flow rate to give me a good flame but not wide open.
Enjoy.

We have a Yukon Legend portable propane campfire. It work well and we can have a campfire when wood fires are not allowed.

Interesting topic jsnip42. Thanks.
We are having the 2011 Spring Rally in March / April and the good folks at Jackson Rancheria have a strict policy of no wood or charcoal fires on the property. The portable campfire will be our only option. I was just getting ready to ask for volunteers to bring their portable campfire. Just not sure if a single portable campfire will get the job done. Could have a large group. Do they put out a lot of heat? Hard to predict temps that time of year. It might be warm or it could be downright cold. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks, John WorkerB
