Library Cards in Temporary Locations?

I read about 2 or 3 books a week, and I can't afford to buy that many!! (I couldn't carry them around, anyway.) Thus I use a library a LOT.
Anyone have experience they'd like to share about getting library cards in locations where you may be there just a month or so?

A lot of local libraries not will issue a card for a small fee, We just got one at the Skidaway Island library in Savannah Ga. We have gotten several cards while visiting areas for extended periods. We also donate a lot of books to the libraries we visit and purchase used books from them. Just ask them if you need to be a resident usually they will work with you... Dave

In Las Vegas they will give you a card. I think it was good for 90 days???

When we are in Surprise, AZ I get a temporary library card for 30 days for only $5 as a nonresident. I would imagine almost anywhere you go the local library will issue a temporary card.

Many of the larger camp grounds have their own libraries.

Larry, I'm also an avid reader. I read 1-3 books a week. My DH built me a bookcase that holds about 50 paperbacks (plus hardbacks). I trade them at RV campgrounds that have exchange libraries (and there are more and more of these offered as the years go by). So far I have been able to keep ahead of my reading. I'm always happy to find a large library where I can trade off 10 or more books at a time. It doesn't always lead to reading exactly what I want or in a timely manner but keeps me happy. How about that electronic device you can download books onto. I have the itouch with the Bible and find it works very well for me.

The KINDLE.
Bought one for Earlene last Mother's day as she is an avid reader. Got the idea from Cathy and Phil. Earlene loves it.

The KINDLE has just updated their software so that you can read PDF files now. A little pricey, but in the long run if you buy a lot of books it will save you some coins.

We also use www.audible.com for audio books, I listen to them while driving and it really helps pass the time. They have thousands of them and the prices aren't bad. I down load them to my tiny mp3 player... Dave
