On Waynes Surgery

Received the following from Earlene a few minutes ago:

Hi, folks,

I just got home from the hospital and am pleased to report that Wayne’s surgery was a success according to the doctor. Prior to the knee replacement, Wayne had something like 50 degree mobility and now has 130 degree mobility (from being only able to flex his knee back just a short distance, he could actually touch his heel to his buttocks now with the replacement). His knee was bone on bone with no cushioning – ouch. He will be in hospital until Friday afternoon, later if he develops a temperature. Then he’ll have the weekend to rest and start his physical therapy on Monday. Believe me, I will push, push, push him to stick with the program. You can get a better idea of the scope of this surgery by viewing a demo on line. I certainly am not qualified to describe it.

Thank you for your prayers and please continue them while he mends.

Sounds good and glad the Surgery went well. Being married to a Retired RN she says that the therapy is the key to a full recovery. Good Luck. And its great to have someone who is willing to help with the therapy. GBY.....

Jim,

Thanks for the post. I have been busy with a girlfriend that has vertigo. I meant to call him this past weekend. If you talk to Earlene tell her prayers are with them.

I wish Wayne a speedy recovery. I know how challenging PH can be as I had arthroscope surgery in May. Mine didn't work very well so glad to hear his did go well. As of now I am waiting for a second opinion about replacing my left knee. Also glad to hear he has a very good range of motion right away. Tell Wayne 2 months from now he will back on the road.
