Rumor on the road has been that Cummings will now be the available motor in the 2010 "F Series" trucks.

For the last year, the Ford forums I watch have been talking about the new in house developed 6.7L motor. Who really knows?

I'm running the Cummins 6.7L in my pusher. So far so good. It would be nice to see it in an F-350/450.

It is too bad that Navistar and Ford always had a communication problem. My 95 PSD came with conflicting infomation on something as basic as the amount of engine oil to add to the crankcase. Both my 95 and 2000 PSDs were shipped out with too low of the additive needed in the coolant to prevent cavitation damage and if you asked most Ford techs about this you got a blank stare. At a Diesel supply dealer, the little dip strip testers were about 2.00 to buy and all diesel mechanics know how important it was to keep the additive level in a certain range. I believe the newer coolants are now made to last a long time without testing. My point is that Ford and Navistar always seemed to have problems with even the very basic stuff like coolants and oil capacites. I believe that Ford is developing it's own in house diesel and I hope it is a resounding success.

The Cummins is coming to Ford has been a rumor for years now. Had the 7.3 PSD in my 2000 and the 6.0 PSD in my 2006 and love both, but a Cummins may be a good change...would stop the Dodge guys from bad mouthing the Ford engines all the time. Just kidding Dodge guys!

I may be wrong, but isn't a Cummins already an option in the bigger Fords, like around F650 and up? Cat, too.

I also heard about Ford's new 6.7L diesel but have no facts on whether it's still on the table.

My son works at a ford dealership, and the talk there is that ford is going to build their own new diesel. Also,I don't know what else they made in Cleveland before, but news reported that ford is reopening a plant there. Don't know if it is the engine plant or not.

Ford and International will be seperating ways as of 31 december09 Ford has been developing thier own engine. The engine is being using the name scorpion as Rich has said. The seperation is part of a agreement between the companies to end the law suit by both companies. The engines for Ford will be made between July 31 and the end of the year at the Huntsville Al plant . That would be my guess. Jim

The new Diesel motors will be made in Mexico. There is a good thread here http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php on the new 6.7L motor.

The Cleveland Engine plant will be building the Fuel Efficient Ecoboost V-6 gas motor. ( we live in that area)

The Huntsville plant does make the Diesel MaxxForce Big Bore motors for Class 8 International trucks..

You are correct. Cummins and Cat are options on the 550 Fords and up.
