Cancelled Maine trip
Well we pulled the Monty home from storage to load on thursday so we could depart for Maine on friday. Glides wouldn't go out as the motor had quit. Dave ran it over to CW but they didn't have the part as they had just given Holiday World the part. Couldn't locate it in Houston so had to be ordered and won't be in till tuesday. We have planned this trip for 8 months. Tried to reschedule for 2 weeks down the road but of course the place we wanted to stay at in Belfast Maine is booked. Since we aren't totally retired we can't just go anytime we want. We had put on new tires, gotten the Pressure Pro from Pat McFall so we didn't have to worry about those things on the road. Guess we need to be here to keep the house in check so Gustav doesn't tear it apart totally. Positive note is that at least this didn't happen on the road.

Bummer on the broken part. Sounds like you have a great offer if you can get up and running.

Dan-What a nice offer for sure. Unfortunately we have cancelled everything on the way there and have decided to go to Maine in maybe May. What is that time of year like there? Would appreciate any suggestions on time of year to go. We have already booked a week in Hot Springs in 3 weeks. Looked at your website and it is a beautiful park and location. Will definately keep you in mind when we rebook. Thanks for your feedback, Jackie

jackie,
I feel your pain. Our just past spring trip was delayed for false alarm medical reasons. We were able to go but plans did change.
Sounds like you have yourself a good offer. Hope you can adapt and make it.
I'm organizing the S.O.B. to pull out of Texas City and avoid any possible confrontation with Gustav. Might just see you on the road.

Wayne-Looks like it may end up back in NO or east of there. We are staying put, but know you are closer to the coast. Just may luck out on this one.

Kroencke, I'm sorry to hear of the aborted trip. Belfast is a neat little town. We visited there last year while staying in Ellsworth. And while down at the waterfront we ran into a guy I used to work with, and his wife. They were there on vacation. From Kansas!
If you get the chance to stop and visit Dan and Sandy, I'd highly recommend it. They are among the truly nice people and wonderful hosts. We spent a night at their marina/campground when we left Ellsworth, ME last year. We hope to get back there to visit them again one of these days.
