I don't have a picture of my setup but I use the following. I have a 20' Flagpole from flag pole buddy with WireEng WideAnt2-x Dual Antenna at the top. I've been able to reach out extremely long distances and get four bars in area's that have no signal at all. I also use a Cheap TP-Link directional WIFI antenna to pick up and re-broadcast camp WIFI for my family and friends. Works with website login and it's plugged into the WAN port on my MOFI router. This setup allows me to use campground WIFI if available supplemented with my cellular service or just my cellular service. The MOFI router also has fail over capabilities so what ever service is faster the router performs automatic switching to the fastest source. Works awesome and I love it but requires a little setup work.

you can find the antenna's cheaper but here is a link to the model.
https://www.wireng.com/wideant2-5g/

This is my service provider UbiFi and you can get the router from them setup and ready to go.

This is the WIFI antenna I use

I've installed a the winegard router and sent it back. It worked well for about 2 months then died on us. Be careful, the power loop also runs the AC unit in the bedroom!

BeagleMan,

Did you go with the blue plan on Nomad? How is it working for you?

Thanks,

We ended up sending the router back. It crashed and I could never get it to recover, and I'm an "IT" Manager. I've heard alot of other folks having trouble with these routers.

Scotty, would it work better with a filter on the electrical line to cut any AC interference??

If it’s anything like the winegard 2.0 it’s junk. Should have taken mine off when they replaced the roof but forgot to tell them. I’ll be going with a 3rd party service with router and Ethernet ports.

Have a 2021 Montana. Has the loop power wire. However, one is green, one is white. Which is ground, which is hot.

Take a mutimeter and test if you get a minus reading "-" then the red probe is touching the ground wire. Positive or no sign shown indicates red is touching the 12V plus wire. You obviously need to break the wire (or use line taps) to test and make your connection to the router.

It has worked great for me but the "splash" screen drove me a bit nuts (only because the wi fi service was not great). Once they fixed that, I was good as gold.

Thanks for this info. Do you think this solution would work when at a campground g
that has virtually no cell service and a a non working WiFi for all intents and services.

I'm not sure, you either need wi-fi or the ability for the router to hook into a cell signal and purchase data (based on my knowledge).

MartiS, if you don’t have a signal it won’t help. We camped at a remote reservoir in Wyoming and had no signal. However, where we do get signal, it does a nice job. We have a T-Mobile Franklin hotspot. $50 for 100 gb per month. The advantage for us is we don’t have to connect our Alexa, Fire Stick, phones, Blink camera, smart plugs and tablets each time to a new WiFi, whether using CG WiFi or hotspot. Verizon phone hotspots shut down after 15 gb, so the Franklin has worked well. Our Verizon cell phones don’t work at our house in the mountains, but the t-Mobile does. So, we keep our hotspot on all of the time. We have been pleased and would purchase again. It gives us the option of using any WiFi source and distributing it via the Gateway.

The larger wires under my ceiling cap are green and white. Anybody know what’s up with this?

Mine has worked great so far (only been a month). I put a SIM card in from T-Mobile and this gateway definitely pulls in signals better than just the hotspot on my phone. We were able to stream video to the TV when our cell phones (on the same service provider) were experiencing very weak signals if any signal at all. So, I'm assuming the roof top antenna is making a noticable difference.

Winegard is supposed to release a new 5G gateway. It said late 2021 to early 2022. It hasn’t released yet that I know.

Winegard is crap

My Air/gateway goes down 2-4 times a day. I have to take the gateway off the wall and unplug as it was NoT installed with the external power switch. I am less than mile away from the tower can see it from my window. Winegard support is completely useless. I complained so much they sent a new gateway…..same issue. Now they ignore my calls/emails.
We have a Verizon SIM. Verizon spent a few days researching the issue and found no issue.
Who is to blame?
Have had my Montana since November and winegard never worked two days in a row. Wife and I both work from home and has grown into one big pile of rubbish. If there is a product that works for WiFi then keystone should install it otherwise stop installing winegard.
I had a winegard Connect 2 in our LTV and it worked good no issues like this. Might think that after spending lots of money on this fifth wheel we could get something that works. NOW I have to spend even more money on a cell antenna, booster, wires, and hotspot to work I think the Air is an inferior product
If anybody has a cell booster abs hotspot I would like to know what you have that works

OnlyRoom, Keystone does not install the router. If you had it installed by your dealer, the switch was in there. The Air 360+ has been a good TV antenna (primary purpose) for us. The Winegard Gateway has worked fine for us, but I use a hotspot for a source. We leave ours run all the time and have never had an issue. Sometimes you can get a bad SIM card. Have you had it replaced. My opinion is the Winegard is the low end solution (cost/features). If I needed it for work, it wouldn’t be my first choice. Most of the people using it for work have thousands wrapped up in equipment. Look at Pepwave, Ranger and WeDrive. Hard to expect a $300 router and TV antenna to work as well as the over a thousand stuff. Lots of YouTube videos on work setups. Sorry for your issues, hope you find a solution that works.

WiFi Ranger has just released an Osprey Cellular Router that pairs with the Winegard 360+. It is a newer version and has better compatibility with an upgraded modem. WiFi Ranger is owned by Winegard. Here is a link to the article. I have the 360+ system and am considering this upgrade, but for now my T-Mobile hotspot works very well. https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/wif...ntenna-system/
