I like to gamble, but only when the odds are heavily in my favor. I don’t play the lottery, go to Las Vegas or use unproven tires when there are proven excellent tires I could buy.

Our 2018.5 we purchased last October came with Sailun G-rated. One of the reasons we passed on the GD 375RES was the Westlake tires.

Our 2021 295RL came with rainier load range F. Gonna roll the dice & see how they tow on long trips. We replace our trailer kings load range D (aka china bombs ) on our 31ft 8k loaded TT @ 5 yrs due to age not wear. We had zero issues with our Trailer king tires & spare was not even put on the ground. When i do decide tp replace i'm going with Herculese ST H901 made by Cooper tire. G rated 14 ply.

Sis in Law replaced her E rated Westlakes on her 2015 GD 337RLS in 2019 . She said the 5th wheel tows a lot better with the Hercules H901 G rated 16" 5 tires mounted , balanced out the door for 809.00 @ our local tire dealer. Great tires . The Herculese H901 ST tires F rated in the 15" made a big difference in the way our 31ft 8k loaded TT towed / tracked behind our truck with the Herculese H901. Our 5 15" inch out the door were 890.00. Ask dealer why 15 " more than 16" . Said the 16" was best seller .

Our HC came with the same tires. I took a few short trips but didn't want to risk it with the number of reported failures. I now have Sailun G's...much heavier, stouter tire. I feel safer on the highway. A TPMS is also a good investment. Although, even a TPMS might not give you a heads up on a sudden blowout.

Raniers may be okay on the lighter units, but they're in the same category as Towmax, Powerking, Castlerocks, Supermax, etc., IMHO.

For me it's just cheap insurance. Around $700 for Sailuns vs the cost of repair caused by a blow out. There are no guarantees but the odds are better with a tire with a better reputation.

The cousin just showed up at the park we are in with a brand new Montana, and it has the Sailuns. All the Montana's have the G range Sailuns, and the High Country comes with the F range tires.
