Illinois to Sioux City SD route/

I would appreciate hearing your route experience...

Leaving Goshen, IND. on wednesday May 24th.
heading to Mount Rushmore and then Yellowstone (June 7) & Grand Tetons (june 15).

What route would you recommend from Joliet, IL to Sioux Falls, SD ?

80/680 west to Missouri valley north on 29
or
80 to Des Moines - north on 35 to 90

OR OTHERS?

Thanks

Check out I-90. Wisconsin Dells is a tourist area. Probably too early to play in the water though.

If there is any heavy rains in western Iowa, I29 may close as the Missouri sometimes floods over or right up to the edge of I29. Sort of rare, but it closed a few days several years ago. Otherwise, both routes are good.

I80 west to i39 north. It joins I90 at Rockford IL. One toll so not too terrible. Road was good last year in July. I90 through Wisconsin is really nice ride. Better than I80 though Iowa.
