Hi Spent a couple of weeks in the area last year. Over a week on S.Padre island beach. Great area. Fished in the surf but only did soso. Being a fly guy I'm not used to all that hardware so it most likley was my fault. Might be back in the Port A area this winter after a trip to Arizona. Departing here on the 26th if we can dig out. We are winter texans. We winter in the Rio Grande Valley in McAllen about 60 west of Brownsville. The winter here is in the high 30's for nightime temps and 60's during the day. This only happens a couple of times during the "winter". Mostly in the 50's for lows and 70's - 80's for highs.

We were in Corpus late Feb - early March for about 4 weeks. I remember several periods of light rain, fog and lots of wind. We met a another couple there and they headed south for Brownsville after a couple of weeks. According to them, the weather there was much better. We did enjoy the Corpus area, however, I think we will try Brownsville in March.

Best Regards
