New Mountaineer

Hi Everyone,

Looks like a pretty busy place here! My wife and I are proud new owners of a 2006 Mountaineer 297RKS. Unfortunately winter is setting in pretty quick here in the pacific northwest so we will be winterizing it and tucking it in for the winter. We simply can't wait till spring however!

We have lots of questions, but I have learned that there is a good chance most of them may already have been asked (and answered) so we will search through the forum before asking things again.

Happy camping.....

CamperDave

Congratulations on you new unit. There is a lot of information here but if you don't find your answers don't be afraid to ask. If possible come to the rally in May and talk first hand to a lot of veteran RVers.
Happy trails.........................

Congratulations on your new trailer. We also live in the NW but we don't winterize and get out at least once a month in the winter; in fact, we have plans for the holiday weekend and the weekend after. Most of the coast campgrounds are open year-round, and we have several county parks open here, as well. We have found the quiet winter weekends just as enjoyable as in the warm weather and much more restful.

Welcome CamperDave to the MOC family.

Don't worry about asking the same questions. Everyday we add new members, like yourself, to the MOC family and some of these new family members may add a different look to the question.

Camperdave,

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new coach. As others have stated, take her out for a winter trip. We use ours year around. The winter is much quieter and very relaxing.

Welcome aboard! As fulltimedreamer mentioned, take her out! It's cold up here in the northeast too but I'm going to Maine for thanksgiving in my Mountaineer. I've had great fun with my unit as I'm sure you will too. It is a quality built unit.

Congratulations on the Mountaineer. We absolutely love ours. We just got back from Galveston Island Texas. We enjoy our winter outings, so far have not had any freezing inside the coach. The water hose to the spigot is something else. I usually just use the water pump. The last time I had the belly cover down there was room for more insulation, and I am planning to add more to insure against cold weather problems.
