gpats,
I think you have done a good job of telling us that we haven't met your need for information and calling on posters to return to your request. Please don't disappear. We need people to tell us what they need and prod us toward answering a very specific question like you have put forth.
I can offer no information because I know nothing about the brand you mentioned. I think any of us can share with the rest of us that we are not answering a request. It is not unkind nor unfriendly to tell others that you need input other than what is offered. It happens between couples all the time and if we consider this a family, no one should become offended it you do so.

Re Breakup plus
It is offered in original UNSCENTED or in Baby Powder SCENTED fragrance.
Break-Up Plus is a synergistic blend of non-toxic biodegradable ingredients combined to provide the fastest and most effective liquefying and deodorizing " The marketing does a very good job in describing what is not in it but does not specify what is in it. What are these... blend of non-toxic ingredents???
Synergism, in general, may be defined as two or more agents working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the agents independently. The product sounds interesting but I would like to know what it contains and have been unable to find out???

As Phil does, I use Happycamper. I have been using it about 2 years, in both my motorhome and now the Montana. It has worked great for me. I usually dump the black tank about every week or two, letting the solids brake up before dumping.

We also use Happy Camper which is an enzyme based product. Used in our MH and now the Montana. Have found that ample amounts of water are also a key factor. We seem to dump about every 6-8 days and don't have odor problems. Also when dumping we send plenty of time flushing and running saniflush system to keep tank as clean possible.

dandt, Hate to disagree but Happy Camper is not an enzyme based product. "It is a combination of nine trace elements and two heavy elements that make up a highly concentrated blend of minerals and micronutrients. In layman terms, it is the good bacteria doing away with the bad bacteria that causes odors and accelerates the natural decomposition of the waste material." This was taken directly from Happy Camper brochure. We have only used it a couple of times, but I have noticed that there are no longer any odors when flushing the toilet. I guess only time will tell the effectiveness of bacteria based products over enzyme based.

We use RV-Trine which is an enzyme based product for our black tank. When we were on the road full time in another brand of RV, we had a lot of problems with the black tank when we would stay over 30 days. We didn't have the tank flush system and tried to do it manually, but toilet paper would clog up around the mouth of the tank. Had to be suctioned a couple of times. We asked around and everyone in the park where we were mentioned that they were careful to use an enzyme based product. So we purchased it, and had no more problems. We ended up spending 11 months at one park due to family illness, and I learned using this waste digesting product it didn't matter particularly what brand of toilet paper I used, as long as it was septic tank friendly. Here a an excerpt from the product label.
Description
" Fast-acting, all-natural enzyme formula eliminates odors, cleans probes, lubricates valves and breaks down waste. Non-poisonous, non-staining, formaldehyde-free. Super concentrated. 48 oz. bottle with measuring chamber. 24 treatments."
It is a little more costly than some products at $26 for a 48 ounce bottle, but that's far cheaper than calling a "honey truck" and the peace of mind is worth every penny. With the Montana and the flush system, this is a super plus. Hope this helps.

We have been using Happy Camper since it first came out and would not use anything else.
We also wash our dishes in a dish pan and carry the water up to the toilet to add a little extra water to the black tank.

Phil, we have been using Happy Camper for over 3 years. Toolmanroy told us about it. It is great. Everything comes out liquid and no bad smells.

We use a very special liquid called===
===
====
Water and have no odor problems. We are also careful to use a paper that will pass the water in a glass test. We have used many of the additives in the past and have found that we just have no need for them. Keep in mind that this has been our home for the last 4 years and for part timers a differnt solution may be needed

I am new on this subject but here it goes with my problem. I have been having lots of odor inside the bath area when my valve is open to dump. Really bad if I flush at that time. My sewer vent is between the 2 bathroom vents so I think that might be part of the trouble BUT my dad was here and thought he was repluming the washer into the gray...but in reality he cut the sewer vent...we have replummed the sewer vent back in...see what anybody out there thinks. I do not remember it smelling this bad before the mistake.

When we dump, we always run the fan in the bathroom. We replaced that OEM fan with a Fantastic Fan and when that fan is on, no odor in the bathroom while dumping. Also, when "using" the bathroom, with the Fantastic Fan on, there is no lingering odor. Just thought I'd add that.

Jack, it has a switch that allows air to be brought in or exhausted. We have ours set to exhaust the air. When in the bathroom with the door closed and the fan running, you feel a great rush of air coming into the bathroom under the door. These fans are the best at moving air that I've ever seen. We also have one in the living room and one in the bedroom.

Regardless of the label on the paper, an empirical test like what Orv described is what I heard works best. There have been too many completely legal labels that don't support the product that is labeled. For example, most TP is biodegradable, but did you know that some biodegrade in months and others in decades and some never biodegrade if buried? That's why backpackers, in most places in California, are now requiring you to "pack it out", no matter what the label says, ugh! I don't backpack near as often as I used to because of this cuz I can't see carrying these black bags around for a week, double ugh.
I have used Orv's test and we use Angel Soft, too. The CW offering is VERY expensive per sheet and the other brand we used was Scot, but fine grit sandpaper is more comfortable. I haven't tried any other. But some of you stated prior your success and might wanna post the brand/model name so we can look for it in our particular region if others mentioned aren't available.

I forgot to mention about the chemicals. I use some storebrand, safe-for-everything, formaldehyde-free popular branded deodorizer/cleaner.
However, some time ago before joining the MOC I read of a person who came up with a VERY good solution of chemicals that ended up being a very safe, effective, bio-safe product you could make at home. Unfortunately, I was not in a place to check this out and now I can't remember a stitch about it. If I ever find it again I will use it and post the results.
If anyone knows what I am talking about it was in an RV mag of some kind and the inventor's specialty was cleaning black and grey tanks so well that sensors would work correctly again and the claim was you could use fresh water in them (I wouldn't, just the thought, yech), and by using his solution that you made yourself, would prevent further build up and problems.
Stay tuned,
