If you live in an urban area or one with a lot of Covid 19 deaths you may be safer out in a rural area in your rig. Would still need to use safety procedures but it may also be less stressful particularly if it gets you away from the news.

True "Fulltimers", such as myself, have been limited on how long they can "park it" long before COVID 19. Two weeks is the norm. Those options are getting fewer and farther between as state parks and "public" lands restrict travellers. Many RV parks are also not allowing new reservations.

I guess you could offer a "moochdoch" spot on your front lawn if you wanted to help? 🤔

I'm thinking jerks is one of those autocorrect things. I'm wagering the word was suppose to be "germs" the germs stayed home.

I was thinking irresposible would be a better description. I may get testy but I always try to be responsible and think of others well being.

Update:

No, I have not changed my plans since I posted earlier here. But maybe, just maybe.... plans will change me! The Govenor of Indiana just issued a "Shelter in place" order for the state effective Wednesday 3/25. I suppose, if things don't change between now and April 10, "things" will change me. But I'm not canceling the reservations. I'm an optimist! Thinking positive, and hoping for the best.

In spite of everything going on, some really positive things are coming out of all this mess. Look around, and count your blessings. You'll be surprised what you have to be thankful for, even in these troubled times.

Our late June trip is still on. A bit worried about daughter getting here from S. Korea on 16 June to go with us. She teaches on Camp Humphreys base and already has her ticket. Waiting to see how this works out. Can cancel campground a week out with no penalty.

We left our winter home in central Mexico a few weeks early due to the fact that PPL sold our travel rig quickly and efficiently. We needed a bit of time to find a new rig. We have been looking around but have not yet pulled the trigger on another 5er.
We have (had) plans to go to the crawfish festival in Breaux Bridge LA in April. Cancelled. We had planned on our annual 3 weeks at the Kerrville Music Festival. Postponed until October. We are now waiting to hear if the annual EAA flying and airshow will happen in late July. We volunteer there and normally arrive at the end of June.
For now we are still in central Texas. Not sure when we will buy our replacement rig. Hoping prices will drop a bit and knowing “cash is king” may help our efforts the longer this problem keeps up.
Best wishes to all. Please take care of yourselves. Most of us are of the age that this virus can be deadly....

Add Oregon to the list of Shelter in Place restrictions. All State Parks are now closed. Only time will tell if any of our Summer reservations will be good.

I am sure the Rural areas are not pleased with Urban campers coming their way, likely bringing the Virus with them. So that may all change as people try to get away.

Fuel Prices

We have no big trips planned - but with what they are saying about fuel prices we may have to spend some extra time boondocking up away from people more than usual. Just saying there is some bright sides to all this

It just seems that there is a lack of inconsiderate people out. Perhaps it could be a sense of camaraderie as we are all focused on the virus. Whatever the case, it would be nice if folks acted better all the time. If you find the word jerk offensive, well I just don't know what to say about that.

We left March 2 for a month long trip to the SW. As each day passes, we are more and more limited as to what we can do each day. Several RV parks from Benson on east towards Kansas are not taking any reservations from what is defined as travelers (people just wanting to stay overnight or say 4 or 5 nights). This puts us in a pinch as the parks still accepting travelers are filling up fast early in the day or being reserved by people wanting to sit it out say a month at a time. Most all grocery stores are pretty bare unless you hit them very early in the morning. As of today, all restaurants have gone to drive thru or carry out only in AZ and NM as far as we have experienced. We like to try out the local Mom and Pop eating places, so this is the pits as dragging it back to the camper in a sack kinda takes away some of the flavor or experience. Most any museum, park, or attraction is closed or very limited as to what you can do. So yes to those of you thinking it's business as usual ... it is no longer business as usual. Not all of us are into Daniel Booning it on BLM land. Lastly ...we have become a population of entitlement not taking kindly to being told what to do on much of anything or being limited on what we are allowed. Having to cut back for a while is going to be pretty tough on some. Having to financially cope will be of issue for some time.

Like you I have been south for last 3 months, in GA. Had planned to leave for home 1st of May. We'll wait and see. We are currently parked in a rural spot so I guess it's stay put for now. NY is locked down but most cases there are in the NYC area. I believe things may start to change later this week. There is concern for the other huge problem we have, the economy. They know they can't just leave it shut down too much longer without permanent effects, thus the cure shouldn't be worse than the disease scenario. This whole thing is a very complicated puzzle. Small businesses employ over a third of workers and it would be bad if many were to go under.
I think we have about a three week supply of toilet paper so we'll just sit tight and see. No pun intended.

When this thread started 3/15 the US had 4,500 positive cases,
Today per CNN there are 42,600
Yesterday there were 100 deaths the highest day recorded.
We got home to Missouri Sunday night from 5 months in Mexico to find St. Louis , Kansas City and St Joseph on “ Stay at Home Order” punishable as a Class A misdemeanor.
I think everyone really needs to consider any unnecessary moving especially if it just because it’s

Jim - if it makes you feel better, Fulton County has reported a single case of corona virus while my Saratoga County has 53 : https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/co...positive-cases

With the way the US has muffed testing and done things totally backward of countries that have done better on this, I think in the next couple of weeks as far as the number of positives, we're in for "shock and awe."

this was the question ……"Has the Corona virus thing caused anyone to change their Spring and Summer plans for this year? " For us not yet we are planning as usual and will address travel plan problems as they come up, if they come up.

Wales, where we just returned after 3 years, is even shuttering private static caravan and national parks, including our favorite in Snowdonia.
