Slide out not opening

Left Florida this morning closed up everything good, arrived in Alabama this afternoon setting up for the week and the bedroom slide will not open. This is a 2020 model 3781RL. All the other slides opened properly, the bedroom slide opens about 1 to 2 inches just on one side then stops. Tried the override with the same result. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about your BR slide acting up. I'm not familiar with your model but suspect it could be a Schwintec slide. There will be others to chime in and provide more help. In the mean time, it would be a good idea to install the LippertNow app on your phone to go through their videos and troubleshooting guide. I'm fairly confident that you can speak with a Lippert tech even after hours. Good luck and keep the forum posted.

Jimbo - in the mean time you can also peruse the following thread if you have Schwintec slide

Sorry to hear. It sounds like one of the motors are not working. Download the lippert app or go to the site. Below is the troubleshooting for schwintek

I would call Lippert help line if your rv is not under warranty. Also Lippert had a RV Bridge support line. The only charge a one time fee of around $20 and help you until the problem is fixed.

With what you are saying about the slide opening on one side about two inches, appears to be a motor problem. It could be a bad ground or the motor is burnt out.

I had a similar problem a couple years ago. It turned out to be the slide controller. Each slide has it's own and should be installed close to that slide.
In our unit (3790rd), they are in the storage compartments under each slide. As any electronic device, one day it works and the next day it doesn't.
In my case, one side of the slide would open but the other didn't. It wasn't the motor or the ground. I eventually sourced the problem to the slide controller. But to get by temporarily, I figured out that if you switched the plugs from motor 1 to motor 2 and vica vera, it would work. But you will have to reverse the function. In other words, to open the slide, you'd have to press CLOSE. Then to close the slide, switch the plugs back and press CLOSE again.
That worked for me but no guarantee it will work for you.
Also, if that doesn't work, you could take a controller from another slide and switch it out with the faulty one.
All temporary methods until a new controller can be installed. The removal / replace procedure is very simple so you should be able to do it yourself. only issue is getting a new one...... expensive.

I am having the Exact same issue, my RV is only about 4 months old and that bedroom has only been out about 4 times total. Got it home from living in it for a month and now the bedroom will only go out about 3 inches and then shuts down. It will go back in, but it won't come out. I am hoping someone on this thread has a fix. The research I can find says there are several different slide styles and I am not even sure which one this is to start troubleshooting the issue. I am going to download the lippert app now tho, that sounds like a great place to start.

I had that same issue twice. I swapped the cables on the controller just to make sure it was not a controller problem, it was not, the same side came out an inch or two. I called a tech and I ordered the motor myself to save some money (mistake). I did not go with a Lippert motor, lasted a month. Second round I ordered a Lippert replacement and has been fine since.
On another note, it is not something I would attempt. Replacing the motor is no issue, pull a plug and remove a screw and pull the motor up. Getting to it is another story depending on your particular configuration, and manually getting the slide out (motor has to be replaced in most cases from the outside) can be an issue.

I had a similar issue. I ended up having to take it to a shop as one side had entirely locked up and I couldn't get to the motor to replace it myself. The shop ended up replacing the motor on one side and the controller for that slide.

This is a common issue. See the link.

https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=87469

What I've discovered is, when leveling on any camp site that is low by more then 3 degrees (on the Schwintec side) you have to support the axles with blocks or legos under the tires. Failure to do this will cause the frame to bow just enough to cause Schwintec to get out of sync. The repair bulletin in the link above address this issue. I park on legos anytime I'm over 2 degrees which equates to approximately 1/8" per foot or 2".

I thought Montanas went with 12 inch frames about 10-12 years ago. How can these flex that much. Or is the flex actually in the slideout?

If memory serves correctly only the longest late model High Country units have 12" frames. 12" frames are most likely across the full Montana line due to the heavier weights involved.

Oh, yeh. I knew HC and Mountaineers were still 10 inch. I didn't notice his model.

MHC uses 10" on anything below 39' or 13K lbs. However I've seen the slide issue on units with 12" frames as well.
