2018 Highpointe Microwave

Recently after 5 years of use our HP microwave has blown the 20 amp fuse and burnt up 2 micro switches in the door interlock closer. I replaced all 3 micro switches and the fuse, now when I close the door after resetting the 20 amp breaker it trips the breaker and is unusable. I asked an appliance repair person what the next step was, and he didn't know. Any clues or is it toast, a new one to replace this one is $500.00 Currently using $50.00 countertop.

We replaced ours with a Whirlpool microwave only. We never used the convection oven.

My microwave went out last summer. Most of the home models are about 1 inch taller than the one in the rig. I search all over and found one at bestbuy that fit. I think it is a samsung. I had a dealer put it in because it is a bit heavy and really needs two people to slip it into place (2 STRONG people!). Fits perfectly.

On a previous travel trailer we had the microwave go out on us. (Highpointe) I didn't even try to fix it. My wife and I ended up finding another microwave at Wall Mart that fit the space. It was just a little bit smaller, but it fit. I did have to drill a couple holes from under the cabinet to anchor the feet down. Once in place, I used pieces from the old microwave to fill in the obvious gap. When done, it look really OK.

With a little creativity, you are probably better off just swapping out the microwave for a new one. Depending on what you get, you don't necessarily have to spend $500.

Replace Highpointe Microwave

Some years ago I lost my Highpointe to a power surge. I was able to fine the exact same one on the internet via Google search. I have not tried in a long time but give it a shot. It was only $89 plus shipping.

Our 2019 High Point Convection Microwave failed in the exact same way on our last trip. I too checked switches and changed fuses to no avail. I have been told the the labor to debug and fix does not make it worth it. We are replacing ours. I did find a High Point with exact same dimensions on the RVUpgrades website.

Don't waste your time trying to fix, go ahead and replace. We installed a regular microwave, skipped the convection oven part. We used a Ninja toaster oven.
