The date mystery is solved. Thank you. I will check with my wife and see what we can do about the May event.

Just made my reservations. Arrive 5/25 but must depart 5/28, obligations on the 29th. Pray that I can safely navigate the 460 miles home. Will be in space 327. Tesa said the space was only for 36', however, she had just put a 40' MH in there and he said the space extended to the rear another 15 - 20 fee. I took it. Sounded like about the last space for a 37' rig in the 300s - hope I made the right decision.

Well, heading out tomorrow for a couple of days and when I return, will have three slide toppers installed. This trip will give me a chance to check out my new CB antenna. My wife just told me the next project is to retile the kitchen, Lord have mercy on me.

Mike,

I just added you to the Lake Siskiyou Western Regional Rally line-up for Memorial Day Weekend 2007. It's a great group of people coming and I am sure you'll have a great time. There will be more information coming later on this year about the rally.

By the way, what is your wife's name so we can add her to the listing?

Have a great day!

As I recall, this spot had a 45' motor home parked in it this past Memorial day. And he had his tow vehicle parked in front to boot. You should have plenty of room. The space is not 90 degrees to the road despite the impression from the map. It is closer to 30 degrees. So backing in should be easy also. Maybe Don (Searchers) will be along shortly to verify my remembrances.

Mike & Kaye,

Glad to hear you'll be joining us in May. Like others have mentioned I don't believe the site will be a problem, but the next time I'm out there I'll double check. In the meantime enjoy yourselves.

From Harold & Donna
We will not be seeing you at the Montana Rally. After receving E-mails that our rig would not fit in space 278, I called the camp ground. They said they would call me back. I called again today and told about the space and I was told they put big rigs in there all the time. They said it was over 50' long. I said I am not worried about the length its the width. They said it will fit, I said if it doesn't I will cancel. The reply was you can cancel today, so I did. So take us off the attendence list.

I am sorry to hear you canceled due to obvious rudeness on the part of the people on the phone. I have found that the people answering the phones are not necessarily even located at Lake Siskiyou. Don is more familiar with this campground than any of us. If he tells you it is too small, believe him. Please keep an eye on this topic for cancellations as we get closer to next May. Maybe something will come up.

Harold & Donna... I am so sorry to hear of your difficulties with the campground and that you won't be attending the rally. It really is a great group of MOC people that you will be missing out on meeting.

As Nancy (ToolManRoy) said, the people you spoke with might not even be at the campground as they have a chain of campgrounds in the west and use a central reservation system. It's a shame you were treated that way. I hope you will reconsider and join us.

Harold and Donna have run into the same problem we did when we signed up for the Mt. Shasta rally for this year. We were put into space 278 - told it was because of the size of our rig (3255RL), but others with bigger Montanas reserved after we did and were given a space in the 300 section. It's unfortunate that whoever talked with Harold and Donna weren't more accomodating. When we arrived in Shasta and saw how far we were away from the group, we talked with Kaye, the manager, and she saw to it that we were moved close to the rest of the rally attendees. Maybe if they could talk with Kaye she could help them.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments. However after the telephone conversation we would not go to that camp ground. And if I find out the other camp grounds they operate we won't use them. When I first called I did ask for Kaye and was told they were real busy and they would call me back. A week went by and no call so I called again and asked for Kaye again and was told she was not available. That is when this other person got on the phone (and dummy me I didn't get her name)
and then that conversation. I was mad but I didn't cancel then. I talked it over with Donna and she said cancel and called them back. I don't think they would care if a lot of people would cancel at $8.50 a pop. $3.50 to cancel and $5.00 handling fee. It's a shame because we were going to check them out for when we go to Washington next spring, not now. We hope to join you at another rally in the near future.

That is a real shame that these people upset you enough that you are missing a great rally. It is a great group of people and a very relaxed event. We made our reservations before we left the rally in person last year to avoid the telephone problems with making reservations. We don't like how the reservation system is handled either, and we have voiced our complaints, but we have made the rally an annual event at that location and everyone wants to keep it there.

Harold and Donna, There is the national MOC spring rally in Buelleton, CA in April if you would like to attend that one - you'll meet some of the same folks who go to the Mt. Shasta gathering, and I have to agree, they are a great group of people. We'll be in Buelleton, and were sorry that due to another commitment we couldn't make the Shasta rally again next year.
