Kids say the darndest things

5 year old grandson has only seen me when I visited in the Monty. He came out for a visit at the S&B and asked where was the "house car"?

Sounds to me like the young lad already has his priorities in order. The vast majority of my fondest memories were those spent with my grandchildren. Alas they have grown up way too fast and have busy lives of their own now. Enjoy while you can.

We have at least 17 grandkids that have never seen Becky (AKA Mimi) and I living anywhere other than in our rig. We have a number of the kids who have purchased trailers, probably because they have seen our travels and want that for their kids.

Actually, there are 28, which includes a couple of step-grandkids, and the first great grandkid is still in the oven, should be done baking in a little over a month. I didn't just type this list, have it in my notes on the phone.

That’s amazing! How do you guys handle Christmas and birthdays?

We have one grandson (and very thankful to have him - we had given up hope of having any grandkids!)

Birthdays are just $20 in a card, but Christmas is a way different story. These are some of the past projects. A Teepee for the little ones for 2015, Christmas stockings for a bunch of them, plus one for her Dad with the tractor, made 58 of them that year for many more than family for 2018, lap tables for 2020, and for this past Christmas, quilts for the grandkids, and many different designs than just this one (this is one of my favorites).

How blessed you are to have 28! Very neat, thoughtful projects! It must be like Santa’s worship all year round in your “house car”.

I have to admit, I didn't have anything to do creating all those grandkids, just married into it. My late wife wasn't able to have kids, so, jumped into this fire. Becky comes up with these projects, I help some including being her IT person finding the designs for her embroidery machine, and she does most of the work. We brought 31 quilts she had done with us when we went to California before Christmas and gave them to the younger ones. Obviously, she makes more than for just her grandkids, and now she is working to complete the rest of them for the older grandkids and some friends, and also just finished one for her Dad last night. It was so big, we had to use the multi purpose room at the resort here so she could stitch it together.

Bob, do you ever get to see Becky when she's concentrating on a new quilt! You have married one talented lady. Why not come to the Fall Rally so we can meet this young lady?

We have a 10' X 12' She Sew Shed on our site here in Sun City where she hides away working on her projects. Once in a while, when the weather is nice, she opens the doors and can be seen inside working. She's kind of hesitant getting too far east away from her 91 year old Dad, who is in California, so I'm not thinking the Fall Rally is working for us just now. We are going to the Spring rally in Colorado next month, and that took a little arm twisting, but she does miss the rallys when we haven't been able to go.
These are a couple photos a few years ago when she was doing the Christmas stockings. She was being teased by my brother at the time of running an Elf shop for Santa, so she had to play the part

I imagine trying to play would you rather questions for kids with all 28 of them . I grew up myself in a big family. It was 25 of us, and it's the one thing I am most grateful about.

Every gathering was so much fun. Luckily, we still get to meet all together once in a while, and it's still as much fun as it was back then. However, I have to admit it was a total mess when we were together when we were little. We were uncontrollable sometimes, according to our parents .

Parenting is entirely the responsibility of parents. Unfortunately, many blame society for this. However, it all starts with the family. My sister cannot have children due to health problems.

Relatives dissuaded her from this venture at first. But she was decisive in her choice. Btw, she is responsible and conscientious in her upbringing. I think many parents should take an example from her. Moreover, there are a lot of tutorials on parenting nowadays.
