Thanks for the ideas, it's helpful for those of us traveling from the Midwest.
We are also looking to visit Washington after the Rally. For those of you living in the area, any ideas for "must see" sights would be appreciated.

Here is a quick list (in no particular order) off the top of my head; don't forget Oregon, Idaho and parts of Montana and Wyoming since you will be that way. We can dig up more information on anything that sounds interesting and will be close to your route.

Oregon
Highway 101 up the Oregon coast
Astoria, Fort Stevens state park
Crater Lake National Park
Mount Hood national forest
Columbia River gorge, (I-84 Portland - Pendleton)
Pendleton Woolen Mills

Washington
Seattle area (crowds & traffic)
Washington State Ferries
San Juan Islands
Friday Harbor
Not much experience in this state, others will contribute

Idaho
Coeur d'Alene
McCall
Stanley
Red Fish Lake
Challis, Yellow Fork
Arco, Craters of the Moon NP
West Yellowstone

Montana
Glacier NP
Butte (mining history)

Wyoming
Yellowstone NP (crowded)
Grand Teton NP
Star Valley, Bridger NF

That should take the next year or so; oh wait, we have to be in Indiana in September.

Since we are from Washington we can give you many great ideas, just depending on what kinds of interests you both have.

Examples, Mt St. Helens, Hurricane Ridge, Hood Canal, Mt Rainier, Olympic Peninsula (most NW corner of the continental US), Long Beach, Astoria and much more. Can recommend RV parks.

We arrive on the 17th of June and can sit with you to talk about adventures.

Take care,
Laura Thorsell

Thanks for bringing this up. Richard and I are also heading north after the rally. We are looking forward to exploring the the northwest. Can’t wait to meet everyone.

Scott-- Looking forward to this Rally and meeting new MOC friends. We don't know how much time we will have during or following the Spring Rally because we have to head back to Nebraska for the Central Plains Regional Rally but thanks for the multiple lists of places to go and things to see anyway.

Ham Radio Operators-Field Day

ARRL Field Day is the weekend we are in Coos Bay.
Any Ham Operators coming to Coos Bay, and might be interested in participating in Field Day?

If anyone wants to tour the area we can volunteer to be tour guides as we know the area well. The state parks, the gardens, the light houses, even the tidal pools on some of the rocky beaches are all amazing to see. We arrive on 17 June.
