The decals may or may not fail under any circumstances. It is my opinion, after owning a fleet of tow trucks with vinyl decals , that wax does not hurt. Oxidation occurs , you can't avoid it. All I know for sure is that my
Decals that were beginning to dull , now look new. I'll bet it will also extend the life. JMHO

Larry is that an easy on, easy off type wax that you do by hand? Or is it one of them wax on wax off jobs that the Kirate Kid learned all about? LOL

Larry, what procedure did you go through to perform this task? Thanks.

The hard part is the scrub down. Wax is liquid and all you do is wipe it on and let it dry, no wipe off or buffing. Tough to scrub off oxidation on caps and black streaks. That's done with 3m Scotch scrubbing pads and Bar Keepers Friend. My caps were oxidized when it was new. Now the caps look like they're wet. Hard work, yes. I'm very pleased. I've read threads on other sites and am convinced that it's the way to go. They report that you just add 1 new coat per yr. after 1st tough job. Every now and again you see a shiny coach, now I have one.

I scrubbed th entire body wit BKF and 3M Scotch Brite Pads. Rinsed well to insure no dull residue or grit. Then applied RMP3 . Scrubbing tough , application easy.

Okay, let me see if I understand the amount of work...

First clean off most gunk with BKF friend and some scrub pads. Do you do the whole trailer or just the real bad parts.

Then you rub in the RMP3 several times.

I'm about ready to do something like this and am trying to estimate how much time (sounds like a lot). I don't worry about effort because I go slow and need the exercise.

I'm guessing this does NOT include the roof which needs other products, or did I misunderstand something.

I have read other times RMP is stellar stuff (but lots of work) and since I am finally ready to do this after 6 years and the hot summer is not here yet, I better jump on this soon.

Did you do the sides too or just the end caps. My sides usually stay pretty shiney just the end caps dull out so I didn't know how it looked on the sides. If you're gonna do it then do it quick, seems like RMP is getting hard to find now.

Did the whole body., not the roof . No rubbing in application. Just wipe it on with Micro Fleece towel. Application is the easiest part.

We also used Red Pro 3 on our Monty and she looks as good as new. Now the same can't be said about the decals since they have been peeling for several years. We just trim away the curling parts and pretty soon they will all be gone!

The front decals were replaced as you can see by the big bear on the front cap. All the rest of the new decals are in a box in the garage. Maybe some day we'll re-do all of them but I'm afraid they will just peel like the originals.

Navigator.....

Something I found out in my research on graphics/decals. They have a shelf life of about 3 years. Probably shorter if stored in a warm location, such as a garage.

Quite a discussion (4 pages) over on rv.net concerning the use of Red Max Pro 3.
Everyone who has used it, loves it.
Everyone who has not used it, doesn't like it.
Ha ha ha

Ouch! Thanks for the heads up. They've been in the garage for about 2 maybe 3 years already.
