Front Leveling Jacks Slip When Operating
When raising the front of our 2010 Moutaineer, the front jacks, or motor, sometimes slip. It seems like it happens like once per revolution of the motor or something. Best I can describe is it sounds like ZZZZZZZZZ-ZUP-ZZZZZZZZZZ-ZUP-ZZZZZZZZZZ-ZUP and on and on.
So far it still works, but would like to fix before it doesn't. Anyone experienced with this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

We have. The gearing on the drive leg was worn. In my case it was caused by the leg itself not being square and resultant stress.

Interesting Mike. Did you replace the gearing? Guess I need to tear into it and take a look, plus find out the manufacturer. Thanks, -Greg

Inside your battery compartment, there is a rod that connects to the two jacks. Check and make sure that the pins are in both sides and it is functioning correctly. My pin fell out and it made a weird noise as it slipped. My speakers could not pick up your sound, so I am guessing here. Ha. ha. Good luck.

Thanks Joe, I'll check that too. If I turn up the volume, it sounds like WRRRRRRRRR-WUP-WRRRRRRRRR-WUP-WRRRRRRRRRR-WUP....

Yup, but not just the gear, replaced the entire leg. Believe yours are from Ventura (Sp?), and they have an excellent web page to include assembly drawings and instructions. I ordered direct from them.

Thanks Mike. I have some pics saved from way back where someone disassembled and replaced worn gears. Guess I need to figure out which one is bad and then call Venture. Wouldn't think they would wear out this soon - it's a 2010.
You know, I never hear a clunk or anything. I would think that if it was jumping a tooth the thing would make more of a clunk noise. Oh well, time to figure it out before it ends up stuck on the truck or where it sits.
