Stacked (side by side) for me and reason is because I wanted to be able to wash and dry multiple loads at the same time.

Would go stacked if we could, but in our rig single was all there was room for.

We only have room for the combo unit, but it works quite well. If the DW wants to wash we just put it into our plans for the day. She will put in a load, set it to wash AND dry, and we go about what ever we had planned, sightseeing, shopping, walking/biking, etc. Come back later to a clean dry load of laundry. She may do that 2 or 3 times in one day if she has that much to do and we are in and out of the RV.

Our dealer suggested Whirlpool apartment size units which they install all the time. Our 3402RL has a closet that allows stacking the dryer on top of the washer and there is a steel bracket that keeps them bolted together. Besides allowing multiple loads going at the same time, it is standard Whirlpool and can be serviced by any appliance repair firm. That's the way we went so we don't know if it's the best options, but we are pleased.

Actually you can get them almost anywhere. Google 110 dryer and even Amazon has an offering. Here's a GE at Home Depot: http://reviews.homedepot.com/1999/10...ws/reviews.htm

We got the Splendide stacked, and other than being smaller capacity than our HE units at home, they work just as well. Possibly better.

Splendide stacked but installed side-by-side in the 3725RL.
Good luck

We have the combo, it does a pretty good job, it just won't fold clothes

We have exactly what Captain Joe has. The DW really likes it. We had the single unit in our other Montana and it was convenient but took an extremely long time for things to dry plus the loads were much smaller. Being full time we have period of time that we are sitting in one spot so the small loads would not be an issue. But during periods of travel you may need to run a couple of loads in an evening to catch up so the bigger side/by/side unit we have now is great.

Single. It was the best we could do. We still do large loads and bulky stuff in the laundry room. Small loads, takes a long time to dry but is better than nothing.

We are on our second single, both by choice. We'd much rather have the interior storage space than be able to dry one load and wash another at the same time.

Combo unit. We rarely go out at night, he watches telie, I work on the computer, plenty of time to get a load done every evening. No worry, we is retired.

Side-by-side units in ours. DW LOVES them and now wouldn't be without them. She says Best thing since sliced bread!!

I wondered if you could use the residential compact w/d, but we only had space for the combo. It does use a lot less water, but clothes come out of the dryer more wrinkled than I would like. Originally, we had the "unvented" combo and I hated it. Switched it out for the "vented" and am MUCH happier. We are full-timers and I really didn't want to depend on a laundromat. I just try to do a load every couple of days and it keeps it manageable. I will say that it takes A LOT longer to wash and dry a load vs. a house w/d, but I'm pretty sure it's because it's 110 and so small.

We ordered a combo vented unit last week. We hope to get it by the end of May since Splendide vented units have been on backorder for months.

Stacked, a week or two w/o hookups and we end up with several loads. We can bang them out real quick w/ the stack. Very glad we gave up some storage.
