Federal campground on way to Niagra Falls from Wat

We where at the Northeast Rally in Lacaster PA discussing the possibility of Watkins Glenn rally. It was discussed there was a great federal campground not far from Watkins Glenn NY to Niagra Falls and you had to have a federal pass to access it. We obtained the federal pass now forgot the name of the campground. If anyone has suggestions of what campground it maybe I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

We stay here quite a bit. Probably 50 miles from Watkins Glenn.

There is a state park around there it is Sampson State park. Was an old military base.

Unless Sampson has upgrades they have only elec hookups.Water in spigot around each loop and dump station.

I was there two months ago and that's still the way it is.

It is one of the only places with GOOD 50amp service at their sites. So if you are only staying a few days full hookups are not a problem.I know the water fill is close enough not to be a problem.

We were at the Northeast Rally and there was discussion about Ives Run. Nice COE campground with full hookups at $18/night with pass. It's just below the NY/PA line in Tioga on route 287
