Winter and Stinkbugs - A Glimmer of Hope

I just read this article and I thought of those pesky critters that weren't lucky enough to hitch a ride south for the winter. The deep freeze may have done some of them in when the temps hit freezing for several days. That should make next fall rally goers a little happier.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...va-tech-study/

Down here in Mexico my only hope to get rid of them now is to wait until happy hour when they all leave for the beach at 5 O'clock and quickly change places. Problem is, that's where I am too. We are still finding one every other day or so.

And the other day Kristi tried to glue beads and a harness on one of them in preparation for the spring rally, but the harness didn't go so well. I think he didn't like the glue. She will keep trying. And yes, it was during happy hour. True Story!

We're in Northern VA and while I certainly haven't seen the numbers as in the last few years, we're still catching a couple each day inside the house. The freeze may have killed off a lot of them, but I don't know about the ones that were in my attic or anywhere else they like to go in our home.

I never knew about these stink bugs before, but found one in the house the other day! Is it possible if you think about them enough they'll start to appear? LOL

Killed one just the other day, but the farmers and ranchers are happy back home because the weather this winter will hurt the bug population some.

Still find one every now and again...crawling on the ceiling. Then I looked inside the ceiling fan with a flashlight and found out how they are getting into the rig from the attic (which is open to the fantastic vents near their top area). Can you say big hole into the attic...sure you can. Time to take down the fan and use some expanding foam to seal that hole. John
