Litter Box
We have a 2015 3100rl and are problem-solving the cat litter box issue. Any feedback from those who've dealt with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We have a 3150RL and put the enclosed litter box under the desktop next to the fireplace / entertainment center. When the grandbabies visit, we turn the opening towards the wall to keep little hands out of it.

We based one of our choices of our 2015 floor plan on having a place for a litter box and our 3735MK has a desk in the back so we took out the office chair and wife made a nice curtain to hide the cubby hole so no one can see it ,on our 2012 3402RL we put the cat box in the washer/dryer closet next to the front door and just opened it a crack

We've been unable to find a good spot in the 3100 floor plan - no desk and the washer/dryer area is located in the bedroom closet. Might have to go with some sort of self contained litter box and find a place for it. Looked at trying to do something with the optional counter island that came with the unit; but, not much room in there.

Several folks we've camped with over the years have either made or used a night stand. Cutting a hole in the side and putting the box in the bottom drawer. Cats go in and out thru the hole in the side and they pull the drawer out to clean. They use the night stand as a side table for a chair or couch.

We tried the Nite Stand method and ours refused to go in a tight enclosed space. So with our RL model SOB it ended up under the dinning table, not an ideal place. Now with our Front Bath SOB there's room for their boxes in the large bath area.

And we don't have to take our Cats outside in the weather to do their business.

Try the litter box in the shower. Take it out to shower, wipe the shower down (which we do anyway) put the litter box back.

Thanks for the feedback. We're going to give TLightning's shower idea a try.

We use the shower also and we don't have to worry about getting home and letting them out.

Im purchasing a 2015 3402RL & I think I'm going to buy a litter box that looks like a cabinet & put it under the desk next to the entertainment center. Im just concerned about litter getting in the carpet.

Yep when we had our 3402RL we did not have a washer and dryer in the closet next to the door so we just put it in there and leave the door open a crack OR like you said in our 3735MK we have a office area and we just took the chair out and my wife made a nice curtain and put it on a adjustable rod and it works great and looks good and as far as the carpet we just bought a doormat the same color and put the cat box on that(no lid) our cats are weird and do no like Lids

Our last trailer had a closet in the hall which was perfect for the litter box. Unfortunately, the trailer itself was very poorly constructed and after four years of problems, we traded it for a Montana 305RL. We have not been out in it yet, just got it last week.
I have a couple of ideas for the litter box.
I have heard of the shower idea, but I don't like the idea of cat litter in the shower (can clog the drain) or the idea of having to move it every time. We are going to try a covered litter box in the closet for now. Another idea would be under the bed, cordoned off from the rest of the area with wood, and a cat access door cut into the side. Some cats smell worse than others when they do number two. Our daughter's cat is just plain toxic! She keeps her box in the storage area under the bunks. (Not a Montana.) Our cat is not bad.
One piece of advice of a more general nature regarding litter boxes is to find a low cabinet that is large enough to fit the box and is self-contained, and take the door off. This only works in some units.
Something else I saw in a fifth wheel (not a Montana) was an access hole cut into the staircase so the cat could access her box, which was located in the basement storage. There was already a laundry chute built into the staircase. These people also constructed screened covers for the outside access panel so the cat could look outside from the basement.
