These pictures taken yesterday by a Acadian Ambulance Offshore Paramedic named Guy Fruge near Boothville, La. which is on the SE tip of Louisiana about 70 miles from New Orleans. Our local news has not even commented about this area, seems like all the headlines are about New Orleans and the Mississippi coast.

Such devastation all over the area. We spent a month in Ocean Springs, Ms last March at our home park. Visited all the casinos that are now destroyed and were planning on going back this winter. I doubt if there is much left of the campgrounds in the Biloxi area.

I just watched on MSNBC where the Walmart in New Orleans was being raided. There was a reporter in there asking this one guy what he was doing. He said he was trying to survive. Now his shopping cart was loaded with toys and cloths. The reporter told him "Come on guy, that isn't what I would call survivel items". The guy said that it was for his little girl. Now who wants to help these people when you see things like that going on. Only in America. We didn't see that kind of thing going on when Asia was hit by those huge waves....That just turns my stomach. Makes me so mad.

Kathi, I agree with you totally. These looters make a bad situation worse and as you said who wants to help with people like that. I don't know the answer as to how this type of behavior after a disaster happens can be stopped with everyone trying to save others there is just no way to enforce or protect stores. These people are barbaric.
Charlie you are right they have limited coverage unfortunately - thanks for the pics.
That was a lovely area and we enjoyed our stay visiting New Orleans, Gulfport and Biloxi.

I was listening to the Attorney General of Mississippi being interview. He was asked about the looting. His reply was people need food and water but what they were showing on the screen was people with shopping carts full of booze, candy and jewelry. We heard one of the Wal Marts opened up the doors and said take what you need. Just a rumor.
Happy trails.........................

Please do not loose your compassion for these people. The looters are despicable and make me sick, but the people who are still sitting rooftops without food or water and people wandering around in a daze are not looting. The poor people trapped on the dome or sitting all day in the sun and sleeping on I-10. They are miserable.
I also believe that some people are just taking food and I don't blame them. As far as New Orleans goes it does not look like the looters are going to get out of town with their loot if they get out at all.

They won't get out with their 'loot' but they also won't be punished for breaking the law either!!! Not to mention the black eye they just gave us on the world press. Unfortunately, it is not the folks sitting on their roofs waiting for rescue but the looters making the international press.

Charlie,, The picture sre of the area ,,"Fourchon La". One of only two areas capable of accepting a super tanker for off loadind. Fourchon has been essentially wiped out. The first picture is a LOADED chain laying barge. Powerful storm. Lets not forget to pray for all the small communities that suffered in this trajedy.
God Bless Everyone that has given of themselves to help others!
