Boogey Lights

Our Montana is a 2011 3750fl. We love it well most of it. One thing we have always hated is the lack of outdoor awning lights. It has a porch light but that’s it. So after some searching we ordered some 16’ Multi color LED awning lights from Boogey lights in KY. Pretty nice lights for the price. Easy install, great customer service. Fortunately for us the awning power goes directly into the control center and it was simply fishing the led wire into the same hole connecting the controller and booking a switch in. Looks stock minus the label for the switch is wrong as it was an unused blank. If anyone wants to add lights to their RV either awning or underneath or in basement check these guys out.

We had Boogey lights on our 2013. When we got our 3820fk we put them on it . I am a Boogey light supporter and as you said the customer service is excellent and the lights are brighter and toughest I've seen. Great product and recommend them tell'em we sent ya.

Ok my awning arm is on the outside wall just behind my control panel. So I snaked the wire through the awning arm wire channel and pushed it into the RV. Re silicones the hole with Lexol which is a fabulous caulk by the way. Added a switch where it says interior lights. That spot had been a blank. Wired it to the controller which I placed in the closet below my panel so that if I need to pair the remotes or my phone again I can easily access it. Fishing the wire was pretty easy actually. My control panel is on the right of the stairs to the front living and on the left is the power distribution center. So I just removed my stairs and added a new line to an empty 12v spot.

Now if it stops raining I can replace my awning fabric and finish replacing my slide topper fabric

Did you have to replace the supplied mounting tape with the "always suggested" 3M tape?

Which tape? The lights come with 3m tape and primer/activator

Gotcha. I know a lot of cheaper led lights have used an inferior tape on it that people have replaced with automotive 3M tape. Good to hear Boogie Lights are using a good one to begin with.

These are quality lights all the way. From install to interface. Heck I had bench tested these like they suggest and neglected to test the Bluetooth on the controller. Got everything installed soldered in and the Bluetooth range and function was bad. Contacted there CS explained the situation and they are sending a new control box with an upgraded Bluetooth antenna for no cost even though it’s $50 more than the one I have. I honestly could not suggest a better company if you are looking for lights.

I had the Boogie lights on my last 5er. You didn’t mention that they are controlled by your smartphone which offers different colors and flashing options. The smart phone can also be used to turn the lights on and off.

Correct they are but they also offer leds that are not Bluetooth controlled

We also have the Boogey lights on our coach. I used the porch light housing for the install, I removed its guts, then used that power supply for the controller power. I drilled small hole in top of light housing and fed wire to light strip thru it, then siliconed it off. If we ever choose to remove them, simply buy new porch light ($10 or less) and replace what is currently there. Also this makes for a very clean looking install too,by using the porch light.

I don’t remember where I bought them but it is surely something you can google. I found some flexible LED tape that can be installed and cut into the length you wish. Soldered the leads into the porch light fixture. I learned if it doesn’t work at first, reverse the polarity where it is soldered in as the wires on the LED aren’t marked for polarity.

Isn’t it amazing how we always need something that we have done without for years? Then it shows up on a newer model than what we have. Can’t live without it!

We have a 2018 3731FL that came with this type of awning light. I would like to have lighting out at the roller. Does anyone know of a set up that can stay in the roller when you bring the awning in? I have had them that slide in the groove on the roller but you have to take it out to roll it up. Not good if a sudden thunderstorm comes up and you need to bring the awning in quickly.

There are a few ways to accomplish what your looking for. You could run the wire along the awning seam you would likely need to run a fake wire on the other side so it rolls up correctly. You could also put a disconnect plug on the arm. Or Carefree offers a kit depending on what awning you have. Looks like dometic offers one as well.
