Outside Shower Fix

For all of you that have no water or very little coming out of your outside shower. Here is what Jack found today. Inside the cabinet on the bottom there is a false back with an access panel - taking this off he discovered that both hoses connecting the water lines to the back of the faucet were crimped badly and most fittings were loose. He disconnected everything, straightened out the hoses, reconnected them straight and we have both hot and cold with pressure outside, even though we don't use it much. When they installed the false backing they push it in too close crimping lines. It is a wonder we didn't have leaks in there. We decided we didn't need the backing so looks like the top shelf with lines exposed. Hope this helps anyone having trouble with the outside shower.

Safe travels.

Thanks for that tip, Lorraine. I don't think anyone has posted on that problem. But then, if I remember correctly, my memory isn't very good???

Early last year in Pa I tried to use my outside shower for the first time to clean something I was working on. When I touched the facet it crumbled and I had water all over the place and it was freezing outside. I ended up caping the water connection and haven't replaced the outside shower unit yet. I just capped the lines and let it go.

I wondered why the connections never leaked before. I only touched it.

One more thing about those hoses are only 1/4" in size. Don't expect to get alot of presure out of the shower head.

Glen and Judy I see you have two 6" inch tubes on your trailer what do you carry in your tubes. I have the bracket built but can't find the pipe on hand with out needing to order it, at near $25.00 per 10'?

Those pipes are not cheap. We went to a plumbing business and bought them. It's easy to see in that BIG picture, isn't it? Glenn is working at resizing it for me. We have our sewer hoses in one and everything from fishing poles to broom handles to squeegees in the other one. They're really nice to have.

On edit, are you guys coming to the rally in Goshen? Can't be too far from Illinois, if your name relates to your location.

I have two 4" pipes mounted in the rear of yours now, but look forward to the new 6" in the front.

Did a short look for the Rally dates but looks like I'll need help finding them? We have two long trips booked already first Wisconsin and the Smokies.

Dennis and Debbie - go to the Fall Rally under all forums, details are there. Also for the tubes, Jack got ours at Lowe's plumbling department pvc pipe, one end he put a cap on with the other end having a thread inside, get corresponding cap to screw in, he attached a wire to cap and pipe in the event the cap decided to unscrew itself. He mounted it behind the orginal one. Works quite well.

Tom, we used the outside shower rarely but nice to have when I want to wash the litter box or muddy shoes.

Safe travels - see all at the rally.
