RV Mattress
We are in the market for a new mattress. Can you provide opinions and recommendations. We heard Ghostbed, Plushbeds, Brooklyn Bedding, and so on... who knows. All cost around $1000 -$1400 for an RV King.
Tell me what you are using.

Vibe
2 years ago we replaced the mattress we have (California King) with a Vibe 12 inch gel and memory foam mattress. My wife and I have been pleased with this so far.
we do plan to replace it with the same thing in a Queen size later this spring just to try and get a bit more space around the bed. it is tight with the King in there.
Price was reasonable, (about 300 as I recall) so replacing it if it only works for 4 or 5 years doesn't break the budget
hope this helps\

Keep your sorry RV mattress and get a 4 inch natural latex foam topper. Latex foam is far different than any other foam. It’s heavy and dense so it supports you better than any other foam and at the same time is soft and will never wear out. We’ve been sleeping on latex foam for 15 years and it’s as good as the day we got it.

Our experience with "toppers" was frustrating in past campers. They caused us more problems than they were worth. They slide around, still felt the unevenness of the bed under it, and it made making the bed even more difficult.
After a couple sorriful experiences, we went the same mattress we had in the hosue ..... Serta. That is my advise.... whatever you have in your house, get the same in your camper.
Currently we have Helix mattresses. By far, not cheap, but sleep magnificent ... especially being 12 inches or more thick! The only problem, they are heavy and lifting the bed to access the storage under it is a 2 people job.
Bottom line ... what works in your house will work in the camper.

x2 on the mattress topper. We replaced our mattress with an inexpensive Zinus mattress from Amazon plus a 3" foam topper. Ours isn't latex but that sounds like a good idea. But we have been comfortable for 5 years now with very little investment.

I'll have to look into that for our house. The RV mattress seems to be better but i'm not sure what brand it is (certainly not what came with the RV).

We just installed a 10" memory foam medium firm. $500. We also have a Dormeo topper that was on the factory mattress. $600. Don't really need it but we have it so...

We use a foam mattress we bought at Sams in 2017 (don't recall the thickness but I will guess 10") for (maybe $350?), and used it in our previous RV. When we bought the Monte, we had the dealer remove the dish-rag OEM mattress and move our foam mattress over. Then we added a 3" topper (maybe $150). This bed is more comfortable than our Tempur-Pedic mattress at the S&B. I wake up with fewer aches-n-pains in the Monte for some reason.

We bought the 10” medium foam RV mattress from Costco. 72” wide instead of a standard king. Figured it would be an easy return if we didn’t like it. It was still a little hard for me so added a 2 inch topper. So far it’s worked well for us.
Also should note that bc the mattress/topper is 7” taller than the 5” factory mattress, had to shorten padded headboard so the mattress would not hit the dresser with the slide closed. The bed platform on our ‘21 is about 21” off the floor so it’s also taller for her to climb into.

We bought a new Montana HC 331RL last year and love everything about it except the rock hard mattress. We replaced it with a mattress from Wilderness RV Mattress and we believe it's the best mattress we've slept on in our 50-year marriage. We love it so much we call it "paradise"!!

When shopping for RV furniture, the last place we look is a store that advertises "RV Furniture." Shop and any furniture store....just be sure the size is right.

We verified the size of our mattress and put in a regular mattress from Costco. We have been full time for a couple of years and the oem bed was bad. We like the upgrade! A standard queen fit perfectly. It’s taller at 11 inches. Just verify if your mattress is standard. Happy sleeping

We replaced our King size in our 3400RL with a memory foam from Wayfair for around 400 bucks. Our second mattress of the same one because we loved our first one we put in our Sea Ray cruiser.

Just swapped out a Serta queen size with one from these folks: MattressInsider.com and are quite pleased with their product.

PurplePower!
In 2019, we swapped our Serta iComfort for a Purple Hybrid 3 with 3" of PurpleStuff. Since then Purple has issued new style of mattresses. We will be going back with the Purple brand. Oh, and our Frenchie loves it.

We replaced the king mattress in our Montana with a mattress from Denver mattress. We have the same mattress at home and in the RV. They have RV mattresses on their website.

WE slept on the stone mattress that came in our Montana 1 night. replaced it with a Sleep Number RV King and never regretted it for a minute. This is our 3rd Sleep Number bed, if i had it to do over I would have installed a regular and not the RV, they have better controls. Although you need to remember to reduce the sleep number setting if traveling in the mountains. My wife now set both at 10 before we travel all the time now.

Mattress Upgrade
I cut the plywood base down to a Queen size. Gained a few extra for walk around. We sleep on a queen At home so we opted for a queen replacement. Went to Costco and purchase $800 mattress for around $500 on sale. We are both getting up in age and really appreciate a good mattress. We are in our RV as a 70 camp site Park Ranger for a 5 month season.
The only initial concern was the length of a standard mattress compared to an RV size. No problem. Slide comes in and the mattress just slightly pushed against dresser. Very nice, affordable and we sleep great.

We still have the original mattress in trailer, but added 4" mattress to help with sleep. We are done with the long trips and no more Arizona for the winters. ( Really miss Arizona, but getting too expensive). We have a 2010 3000RK. Probably only another 2 yrs max for using our trailer and will be selling.
