Dometic 9200 Power Awning will not retract
I have 2021 3855BR with a Dometic 9200 power awning. I had it part way out and went to retract it but it very quickly rolled all the way out. I can hear the motor running when I try to retract it but it does not move. I went online and saw how to retract it manually with a drill after taking the cap cover off but that does nothing. Any idea on how I can get this back in until I get it looked at?

If motor turns but it doesn't retract or extend, it sounds like the gears are stripped or out of alignment. Not working with the drill makes sense in this case also.
Can you twist it by hand and then zip tie it shut? It may take 2 people working together to roll it up manually. If you can slip a zip tie or two behind the vertical supports once you get it rolled up, they should hold it shut.

Awning gremlins UGH
Soooo, it must be contagious....literally having the EXACT SAME issue as of yesterday. Can the gears be replaced or do we rpl the entire motor?
2020 MHC 373RD......so no slide out beneath the awning to support that monster once the end containing the motor is detached. AND the wife & I are "vertically challenged" so links/videos for the replacement motor & process would be appreciated.

Here's a video of Hillbilly RV replacing one. He's a super nice and honest guy.

Was going to try that, thought we might have to remove the gas struts to get it to roll in?

We were able to get ours rolled in.....2 ladders and three people later. You do not need to remove the struts. It was a bear io get started, but once you get 2 or 3 turns in it's abit easier.
I feel like finding a replacement 9200 motor is going to be more challenging than securing the awning. Plenty of 9100's...9200 Out of Stock everywhere. If you locate a source for a replacement, kindly post on the thread. I will be sure to do the same.

Thanks, I did get it in. We found if we pull and bent the arms in it took the pressure off of the struts so it was a lot easy to roll up. I agree on the replacement motor, everyone seems to be backordered.
