Shower HELP!!

My 2000 2855RK has the usual folding/sliding shower curtain. I have had the same configuration in prior campers and THEY ALL LEAK at the bottom because of the way the folds are arranged. I would like to replace with a glass slider but dealer says that is not available. Also saw a pull/slide type in Campers World. Anyone found a viable replacement.

DVW, I hope you don't mind my asking but I was not aware of any Montana having anything other than a glass or (acrylic?) shower door. Is yours the curtain type like you see in a stick home with a combination tub and shower?

It is a 2000 model 2850. The larger models that year had glass and they changed to glass in my model a year or 2 later.

DVW,

First, welcome to the forum,

Now, I cannot help you find a glass enclosure, and maybe you have already tried this, but

In our TT (prior unit, owned for 14 years) we had a home shower curtain as well. Had a decorative one on the outside of the tub, had the ole plastic one on the inside of the tub. We had a seat in the tub, so part of that shower curtain was WAYYYY long! I cut off the portion that went around the seat area. I also took velcro and put on the inside of the tub and the matching side of the shower curtain. I did not let this portion of the curtain "fold", I kept it rather flat. The velcro kept that portion of the curtain in place for 14 years! And, kept the water IN the tub!

Good luck on finding a solution to your dilemna, and again, welcome to the forum!

Carol

DVW,
In our old TT we used a shower/bath sliding curtain from camping world. It had a top and bottom track the curtain moved in. It was great, it came in several sizes, it was easy to install and looked great and the BEST PART was it worked. It didn't leak.

It worked great for us and made it would work great for you. Good Luck.

I would check with some other RV dealers and supply companies. We had a 2000 2750RK and it had the same folding curtain you speak of and it leaked at the bottom if you weren't careful. I never did replace it but our dealer told us he could get a glass door for it. That was a couple of years ago and it's a non issue for us now as we've sold that Monty.

Steve just to let you know the shower curtain was very similar to the new bedroom curtain everyone dislikes.

DVW I had the one that CW (according type) sold in my other trailer, and when I installed it I used a self leveling sylacone, I also installed three magnets top middel and bottom on the open side and it never leaked the only thing I didn't like was it wasn't tall enugh I'm 5'7" and it came up to my nose I had to duck to enter and exit the shower.

I found that the track filled with water and would overflow because there were only a few small drain holes. I eliminated the problem by drilling more drain holes on the tub side of the track.
