Great job Gruffy. Does the place that you found the fabric have a web site address?

Unfortunatly not, but I guess the fabric is commonly available. 2 or 3 folks at the Tampa show were peddeling it. What I got was remanents.. so the price was right.

Thanks Gruffy1 That sold be a vast improvement over sticking up those foil windshield covers. Makes you feel like you're in a cave. Hope the price is right for everyone. Luck you to have found remnants!

Gruffy,
How is it attached? Does it stay up while traveling? Does it still give you privacy at night?

I hung them up with velcro. We take them down on the road and roll them up. 12 feet of that fabric wieghs less then 10 pounds.
At night you have to draw the blinds. It's like window tint... it works when it's brighter outside, darker inside.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the white portion of the pleated shades that came with the Montana do the same thing as the privacy screen?
You said "it works when it's brighter outside, darker inside." During the day with the white pleated section down I cannot see in but at night with the interior lighting I can. So at night we draw the dark pleated section. And up or down we can still have our jalousie (awning) windows open. Also being white this would also reflect a huge amount of the heat from the suns rays.

At the Rally in Goshem I had, as show and tell, a rear window screen that pulls down like a window shade. Did you see it Glenn? It is made by Carefree of Colorado and is called Carefree Sunshades. www.carefreeofcolorado.com

I had a whole list of things I wanted to see at that show and tell but didn't get around to very many of them. I wish I'd seen this, Bill and Ann.

Stops the heat outside, not inside. Allows you to see out very well, much better then the pleated day nights, its a screen, so the air passes through with the window open. Might even allow you to camp without the air conditioner...

Same idea.. but I bet the roller added many $$$ to the price and the end cap had some screws put into it. That's why I went to velcro....
Did a bit of measureing with the light meter on a gray card. Clear glass F22 pleated shades F8 sun shade F5. Hard to measuer, but the view outside is much clearer then through the pleated shades.
