Tucson

We are in Tucson, AZ. Started out with 8.9 MPG. Crossed the Continental Divide and ended up with 10.1. Now that's not bad for 30+ thousand pounds pulling a car behind.

We are staying at the Davis-Monthan AFB. Nice park, but for military/retirees only. We will probably spend 2 night, and maybe 3. Then on to Yuma.

If we are close to Sysik???? around Labor Day, we might just drop in. Have some plans that we would have to change and we are looking in ot it.

If make it to Lake Siskiyou on Labor Day, feel free to drop by. I doubt there will be Many MOCers there, but you never know. Most of us spend Memorial Day weekend there.

Wayne,
Carl told you where we'd be on Memorial Day but forgot to mention we'd be over on the OR coast. So on Labor Day just head west and meet us at the crab fishing place.

And if you are coming through Bakersfield drop us a line and plan on spending at least time for a cup of coffee or stay overnight.

Travel safely,
Dennis

Alright already! I'm a relatively new retiree, 2007, so dates are not important to me. Labor Day, Memorial Day., and all the other days are just names on a calendar.

Well shucks! I meant Memorial Day, doggone it!

I'm so fortunate to have so many well tuned eyes listening to me. (Yes, if you are reading this, you are listening, so there!)

Wayne, I understand you are on your way to San Diego? Where will you be staying there? We will be in Jamul (1000 Trails) beginning this Friday for two weeks. We have stayed in the parking lot called Admiral Baker RV park before and, although it was close to my son's house, it was not a great time. The only saving grace was the price.

Phil,
I have reservations for May 6th, thru May 8th at Admiral Baker. Staying there for basically the same reason. Just a place to put down the stabilizers. We met each other in San Diego, in 1961. Knew each other for 2 weeks, and 49 years later I can't get rid of her - she cooks to well. We will be looking at some old homesteads and just touring around looking at the area.

From there we will most likely go to the Oceanside area, then to March AFB if they have space. We have some friends close to both areas that we have not seen in years, but keep in touch. If March AFB is full we'll find some place around Ontario, CA for a couple days.
