OceanLakes RV Park in Myrtle Beach
We can't wait....It's been a LONG,LONG winter here in upstate New York and we are looking forward to heading down to pick up our Monty in Myrtle Beach. We are leaving next Wednesday (April 9th) and will stay on the beach for 10 days. If anyone is at OceanLakes at that time, let us know and we'll stop and say "Hi"

Have a great time, we're NewYorkers too and have had enough!! My parents live very close to ocean lakes, in fact they live across the street from the CEO of the Jackson Companies(ocean lakes)about 1/4 mile away. We'll be there for 10 days in August.

We'll be at Ocean Lakes the first week of May. "Discovered" this place while passing through the area on our journey from CT to FL last September. Great Park and location.
Hope the weather is as good in May as it was in late September.

Just got back yesterday from spending the Month of March in North Myrtle Beach, didn't have the 5ver with me as I had rented an oceanfront condo for the month, due to having more "Guests" for a couple of weeks than I would want to "Squeeze" into the RV. Went by Oceanlakes, and several other campgrounds on my local travels in the Grater Myrtle Beach area, and passed many RVs yesterday heading north.
To be honest, I rented a 3 BR 2.5 Bath oceanfront condo for the month for less than it would cost for me to haul my RV (with a V-10 truck 7-8 MPG), and campground fees, than it costs to drive my V-6 car (30 MPG highway), and rent the condo. I also would have been edgy with the 2 "Tornado Watches" posted while I was down there, plus a handful of days when the wind blew at 40+ MPH at the seashore (where the majority of the campgrounds are located). I love my 5ver, but it just doesn't make economic sense to haul it over 1600 miles round trip, I'm also from the "Great White" Central New York area (Cicero) as well. I'll save my towing for the summertime trips, as I've already signed a Condo lease for next March.

JP, I'm from the East Syracuse area so I guess we are neighbors.....I agree with you regarding making the 1600 mile round trip and I will be "re-thinking" my strategy for next year. We went down with the RV for Thanksgiving for a week and left the unit in storage right at Ocean Lakes. Our original intention was to be able to go down in February with the car and stay in our 5er for 5 days but we never made it down. (they actually will move your unit on and off a campsite as many times as you want while in storage) Our trip down now is to bring it home for the summer season.
Oh well......

Agree with the NY "enough winter" message, got a Dexter shackle job in front of me before going out on the road. Hoping to do a Kutztown Pa trip end of April...we will see.
