Patio mats

I just bought a new patio mat. (I didn't have one.) I shopped in the CW catalog, and in a big catalog the RV dealer had, they ranged $62.00, $66.00, $74.00 for a 9'x12'.
I shopped at a Vietnamese general store in our River District, (Just North of the Steamboat Arabia in downtown Kansas City for our Independence, Mo. members;Streigle)
I bought a nice mat for $22.00, it is 8'x9'. I think it's nice.
They had many colors and designs there.
I would imagine any similar store in your areas would have them.
Might save you a few bucks you could put in the gas tank.

Thanks for the info on the mats, I'll remember that. Here is another place if you dont mind me adding to your post.

We go to the dog shows and get the mats from them, (2) 9 x 12. they use a nilon string in stead of monofilament to sew it together it seems to last longer, ours are now 10 years old and still together. we paid about 40.00 each for them. DOG SHOWS!!!

ADD ON: I found this site I had for a long time in the favorites and have seen there mats at RV shows, they are very nice, and compact for storage, but do empty the wallet.

Georgia and Smokey,
Good information, probably heavy duty ones.
Take care, Ozz

Ozz, thanks for the info but we'll pass on this one. We used to have a mat. First problem was so many rv parks say don't use them on the grass since it can kill it. Second is the space it takes to store it. We just don't have that much empty space all in one place! But thank you for thinking of us.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Have to say we got the best deal of all on our patio mat. It's beautiful, matches our color scheme and we won it in a raffle during the first Montana Rally at the Pla-Mor campground in Indiana!!

We also won a patio mat at the first Montana Rally and since we already had one, it made a perfect Christmas gift! One of the things I was concious of was that the mat must be breathable, otherwise, it won't kill the grass if left in place for a week. So far we have been very successful at that. Keep that in mind if the mat has a rubber back it will kill the grass in a couple days. Also, when wet the rubber mat is heavy to pick up and store, whereas the breathable mat doesn't hold water. The present mat we have is 10 years old this year and looks like it will last another 10.

Vicki says we still have our mat but it's in the kids' basement. I'll try to remember to dig it out and bring it to the rally garage sale, if anyone wants it. Now, if I can just remember...

Hi,
We had a mat (polypropelene) from Grill Lovers catalog - just threw it away after less than a year in the sun it died - started tripping us up on the strings and decomposing pieces - hope to find a better one in the future.

We purchased one of the mats Trailer Trash 2 is talking about. Now maybe you aren't suppose to put them on cement but I wanted the red, white and blue striped one to complete my patriotic theme. After less than one year it fell apart. It was a very hot summer in San Jose CA and it may have been the cement patio it was on.
Happy trails...........................

Yes but like I said it may be because we had it on the cement patio and very high heat.

Ok! I'll tell my sister not to get them, she was going to get two 9x12's, and I was thinking about doing the same, when my plastic mats wore out. they are still in good shape.

Ours was on grass/dirt and small gravel - no concrete but still fell apart in less than a year.

I think the sun just cooks the plastic and strings holding it together.
