On the way north
Left Yuma on Thurs., now in Parker for a few days, to get in some golfing and warm weather. We are planning to take Nevada Hwy 93 to Wells, then continue on up I15. Has anyone taken that hwy, or can anyone suggest campgrounds on the way. Thanks

We haven't driven that stretch but did take 93 from up in Idaho and down to Wells, NV. It was good road, no problem.
We stayed in Ely, NV, at Valley RV Park a couple of years ago. It was "ok" but we wouldn't probably stay there more than 1 night. There were at least a couple more rv parks in Ely. We were eastbound at the time but I think Valley RV Park was right on 93, if my memory serves.
Safe travels and enjoy the trip.

Thank you, will watch for those campgrounds, looks like a good distance for a day, depending on the weather. It looks like rain and more rain all the way up. As long as it isn't snow I guess.

SMC, if you are headed north from Wells, Jackpot Nev.(Cactus Pete's) has a very nice CG. and further north in Twin Falls, Id there are a couple of nice ones. If you are coming through Twin Falls I would normally invite you for a cup or drink, but we are leaving Sunday for the east, West Virginia. We are only 1 1/2 block off Highway 93. I may be assuming to much as you said that you are going to I15 to go north and am not sure where you will pick up I15. Gook luck in your travels and be safe.

SMC,
There are two other possible parks in Ely: Prospector Hotel & Casino & RV Park (775.289.8900) and West End RV Park (775.289.2231).
93 is a nice road through Nevada, but we felt a little more comfortable and made better time when we switched to I-15. That was three years ago, though.

Thank you everybody. Firetrucker, we want to avoid Salt Lake City, specially in the rain! As long as there is fuel along the way, we don't mind the "lonely Highways"! We are not in a hurry, trying to avoid any nasty weather, we have become quite fond of these 80's temperatures and are not looking forward to chillier climates! Paulrem, sorry to miss you, hope you have a good trip to West Virginia.
