heat in Toilet Area

Tohe familiar with my floor plan, know that the toilet is in a room by itself. During these cold months, if I leave the door closed, it gets pretty chilly in there. SO we have been leaving the door open to let the heat in. I was wondering if anyone has run a heat duct to the toilet area to help with this problem, and how it workd out.

Thanks

Hi Kozzy -- We have a 05 3650RK LOVE IT - also have experienced the cold little room. Just the two of us - so I would leaved the door open a little and slid the hall door closed from the living and dining area to get more heat in there. I don't know if there would be room for a small ceramic heater or not. I will have to look. Thats one place I want to be comfortable!!!!!!Keep me posted if you come up with a solution before I do. We are headed to the Rio Grande Valley the 10th, don't think we will have to worry about a cold room down there, it,s been in the 90,s the last few days down there.
Might have to think about a way to cool the little room. ha ha latetr John H

If I am not mistaken the 06's or at least some of them have a vent in the "Little room"

Leaving the door open a little seems to be the easiest solution.

Over here in Hong Kong, there is no central heat. In general, there is no need for it. We use very small Philips brand electric heaters to blow a little warm air across our feet. Dianna also uses one in the not-as-large-as-the-USA bathroom to knock the chill off. They are thermostat controlled and have variable fan speed. There are grills and safely devices to avoid fire and injury. I think I have seen some in the stores even smaller than the one I am looking at across the room.

It is surprising how little heat it takes to make things more comfortable. I would just bet someone in the US is marketing a safe heater for a very small space.

The new Montana's have the heat vent in the coach. As for installing one in a earlier model I had thought about it but, decided I did not want to drill holes into the flooring or the duct work. I also leave the watercloset door open to allow heat into the room. Cheaper solution for my needs.

I am planning on adding the heat vent to the bathroom.
I have the floor unit.
You can pick up the flex air duct at a local hardware store
Take a 2 1/2" hole saw and drill the hole in the right back corner.
Drill a hole in the basement panel under the stair area.
Take one of the blank panels off the furance and with a pair of snips cut the center part so you can fold the fins out so you can slip the flex air line over the fins.
Pick up a roll of the duct tape that has a blue strip that you pull off, It is great stuff.
I have been helping out a friend building a house this winter and we have a Port-A-Potti and I can tell you I am sick and tired of the dreaded cold seat.
So heat to our bathroom.

We found a heater in, of all places a Rubber maid outlet store. It is a Duracraft, Surround heat, variable speed Thermostat controlled electric heater. In blows in 360 degrees or can be directed in one direction. It sets less that 12 inches high. and has a small foot print. It is very effective and in chilly weather kept our TT comfortable.

My 06 2955RL has a heat vent in the little biffy room so I assume the larger models will have it as well.

It's more like this: the 2955 seems to have always had the vent in the toilet area. For sure my 2002 2955 does. In earlier discussion of this subject, I think this has always been the case.

As in so many other discussion, the exact model must be known to answer the question.

Our 2003 model 3295 does not have a heating or cooling vent in it, and that has always struck me as odd, though I suppose it was an oversight. Our 1997 Prowler had a vent in it, so I was more than a little surprised to see the absence of it on the Montana.

Still, leaving the door open would solve the problem, at least most of the time. I remember the WC in the Prowler could get VERY cold when the air was on.

Getting out of the shower in our stick house the other morning I realized there is not a heat vent or A/C in the shower/toilet room. The sinks are in another area off the bedroom much like our Montanas with a 3/4 wall separating them from the bedroom. There is a vent there as well as the bedroom. So if they build stick houses this way I guess they can build RVs the same way. The door is opened when not in use in the stick house so that warms and cools the area.
Happy trails...................

WE have a 2003/2955. No heater vent to be found in the bathroom. The 06's we have been looking at now have a vent.

Darwin and Maureen, Where is Minnedosa? I was raised in Pine Falls , Manitoba but I have lived on the Island since 66. Pine Falls is about 80 miles NE of Winnipeg. Take care, Don.

Wow, it is a small world out there. At least two others have a good idea where little old Minnedosa is. Dave is right Don, Minnedosa has a pop. of approximately 2400 people and is located in a beautiful valley along the river. It is a great place to live but during the winter. Hope to see some of you travellers in the southern states starting Jan/07.

Darwin, my son and his wife of two years (Saturday is their anniversary) lives in Neepawa. He met her when stationed at Minot AFB. In Laws are Dennis and Leslie Skibinski of Neepawa. He is an industrial arts teacher (I think in Minnedosa - but could be wrong) and she is the Re Max broker in Neepawa.

*On Edit~ sorry - didn't mean to divert the thread...

We have a 2005/2955. We also don't have the luxury of having a heater vent in the bathroom either.Sounds like someone finally woke up and decided to put it in the 2006 model. We too just leave the bathroom door open in cold weather.

Interestingly, our 2001 2880RL had a heat vent in the water closet but our 2003 3295RK does not.

JD, on our model and yours the furnace is just below the curio cabinet which shares a wall with the water closet. I would think it would be a fairly simple task to fashion a heat vent for the water closet. Maybe a 1/2 inch pipe or so. That close to the furnace I wouldn't want it very big. I have been saying for three years I'm going to check into doing this but....
