Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

We are finally heading East to Ontario after spending nearly four months on Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, B.C. Spent two nights in Penticton, B.C. at Camp-Along RV Park (beautiful park but not meant for the larger units). We then headed to Revelstoke, B.C. and stayed at a wonderful park - Canyon Hot Springs - would highly recommend this park, large, level sites with views all around (W & E only). Spent a couple of days there then headed on to Calgary. Alberta where we stayed just south of the city at Pine Creek RV Campground, again I would highly recommend this spot. Sites are very large, park is extremely clean and if you have a dog they have an extremely large fenced in off leash dog park. Right now we are in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at Saskatoon 16 West RV Park. This is a nice park just off Hwy 16, long level sites -- very wide grassy sites. We will be here until Friday a.m. Have been off line for a while - first we were unable to get internet access then our laptop crashed but we are up and on line for a few days on the desk top computer. Have missed reading the forum --- guess I will be busy for a while catchin up.

Julie,

Where did you stay on Sumas Mountain? Was it "Abbotsford Camp and RV Park"? We are trying to keep track of people's recommended parks for when we get to travel again.

Sounds like you two have had quite an adventure. Hope to see you again sometime, and then you can tell us all about it.

The Abbotsford RV Park has been sold -- was to be vacated in July to make way for yet more new subdivisions on Sumas. We stayed at Heritage Valley Resort. They are known in the area of their dinner theatre, their Retreat Facilities and Wedding Facilities. It is "rustic" but beautiful. The dinner theatre and wedding failities are on the lower level and the campground is up the hill -- secluded, treed area with large sites. They suffered a landslide in the early spring on the lower area and were still clearing up when we arrived. Improvements are planned for next year (cable TV and perhaps even phone access). They do have wireless internet access down by the office. Check out our website for pictures. Very quiet place yet very close to the town of Abbotsford. It is a short drive up the mountain from the Transcanada Hwy. and an easy drive into the mountains too. Would highly recommend this park --- .

Will be "camping" in my brother's driveway in Hastings, Ontario for a couple of months while we catch up with friends and relatives.
