The new window over the slide in 2004-5

The folks we met this week in their 2004 Big Sky shared a story about the long, narrow window that Keystone added over one of the slides, usually in the living room, I believe. The story goes that Keystone had a nearly finished model on the production line when somehow a hole was punctured high on the side of the fiver. Then came the dilemma. They called in the engineers and it was decided that they would put a window there, something like a skylight but on the side. They liked the changed so well that it's now standard in the new models. Just thought it was an interesting story and clever ending to a problem.

Very intersting story! I wonder just how many popular our “creative” design styles found their genesis in such accidents!

I wouldn't put much stock in that story. They'd have to take the interior and exterior siding off to cut out the opening in the studs and add supports above the window for the roof I'd think.

Keystone did not keep the skylight in the 2005 units. We had one in our 2003 Montana.

I believe it was an upgraded item that was a Big Sky exclusive. I think they called them Big Sky windows or something like that.
