I have done most of Oregon,(will be doing it all in middle of March) and also done the Washington too. You should have no problem. Happy traveling.

Piece of cake. We towed that entire route in 2010. The toughest part of that tow is keeping your eyes on the road when you're wanting to look at the Oregon coast. There are many pullouts but, if possible, park the house and do the sightseeing solo. Gorgeous drive. Enjoy.

We have driven Hwy-101 from Northern California through Oregon and all the way through Washington numerous times with the Montana. Beats using I-5!!! You will have no problems except for the killer views trying to distract you.

I have towed Oregon coast many times. Here is some advice I would suggest. I say this based on observation and not first hand experience. When you come to a city and the speed limit says 30 or 40, ya darn well better not venture too far over the limit. An out of state license is an invitation for the local cops to help you assist the local economy.

On a more positive note: make sure you spend several days at Fort Steven state park at the very top of the Oregon coast, just west of Astoria. And, make sure you plan a day trip into Astoria to visit the Coast Guard museum. You will thoroughly enjoy it. If you'd like additional suggestions, contact us at: denandannie@frontiernet.net

Awww...that is so nice!! Our son is stationed in Astoria on the Coast Guard ship Steadfast. If they are in port you might be able to get a tour of the ship as well. The ship is usually right next to the Maritime Museum.

Be sure to stop and shop on the way. It helps the local economy and THERE IS NO SALES TAX! You are getting a 7-9% discount on everything compared to other states (except Montana and I think New Jersey who also have no sales tax)
